I am a long time lurker with a question and I immediately thought of you all! Hubs and I painted our kitchen last night and I went a bold blue color that I love! I would tell you the name of the color but I accidently let the guy at Lowe's keep my paint chip and I can't remember the name of it. The previous home owner had painted it green so that's what we were painting over. The problem is the backsplash. It is a gold(ish) color plastic that is made to look like tin (here's a link: www.lowes.com/pd_154257-82801-B50-25_4294730929__?productId=3400562&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1¤tURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar%7C1&facetInfo=) and it looked fine with the green but it looks pretty awful with the blue I chose. We plan to do a kitchen remodel within the next few years so I really don't want to spend much of anything on changing it now. Here is a link to what it looks like now (sorry, I had to paste it into a MS Word document to get it to upload!) Attachment Deleted. SO, I am thinking I could possibly attempt to paint it white, but I am nervous because of type of material and the fact that it is in the kitchen. The other option I came up with was just taking the backsplash down and painting the wall the same blue but it's glued in at the top. What's your opinion?? Any other ideas for me?

Thank you all so much for your input! After I put the room back together and hung the wall decorations back up, it isn't bothering me as bad as before. I think I am going to live with it for a while and go from there. Thanks again!!
Oh and, nursecramer, the paint was color matched to Valspar One, so it just has all of the numbers on the label
Great color! I'd pull off the backsplash, sand/repair the glue areas, and paint the area blue. I think the extra color through the middle will help the Wall of Neutral effect you've got going on the cabinet wall.
To update, yesterday I told DH that I was thinking about pulling down the backsplash and painting the wall the same color blue. He looked at me like I was crazy and told me that he tried to get me to do that when we originally painted. I guess it went one ear and out the other because I don't remember that conversation at all! Oops!
