I hate travelling alone. Or going out to eat alone. Or going to the movies alone. Or to a museum. Or a concert. And I'll go shopping alone, but I'd much rather go with a friend. You get the idea.
So for you ladies who go out to dinner or to bars or even on vacation by yourselves, what do you do? Do you bring something to read while you eat? Do you meet strangers and talk to them? Do you just keep to yourself and enjoy your own thoughts?
I have to admit I'm the exact same way and I was thinking the same thing. It's not that I mind being alone, but I really like being social and chatting with people. The best part of doing activities for me is talking about it with the person you're sharing it with.
I'm not gone on a trip alone, but I looooovvveee shopping alone, movies alone, dinner alone! I chat with other people (wait staff or whatever) sometimes or sometimes I just enjoy the quiet.

When I travel alone it is usually to meet someone there or for work. Then again traveling alone doesn't bother me. I've done plenty of side trips and parts of trips by myself. Ex I did my tour of the west coast of Ireland alone. I met great locals had tons of fun.
Dinner alone I'll usually sit at the bar and chat with people or even staff. Same for bars.
I enjoy my own company. Sometimes I'll pull out my phone but it is rarely nreded

Since I've been going out alone I've been going to a meetups so there is always someone to talk to because that is the purpose of the meetup (to meet people)...but tonight I am going out by myself alone...no meet up. I am going to a jazz show I really enjoy jazz so I'll be in a happy space to begin with, surprisingly I'm not nervous....I'll report back and let you know what my experience was like I figured something like this would be a good start because I have something to "look at and be entertained by" as oppose to going to a bar and just sitting there...
I understand. I don't mind shopping alone, but that's it. I've been thinking about taking a trip alone to clear my head, but honestly i think I'm too nervous to do it. Any suggestions are appreciated!
I just enjoy my own thoughts. Sometimes I will text or Facebook, but I really like to meet people, so sometimes if I see the opportunity then I will start a conversation. I just see it as taking myself out, rather than having a man take me out. I like to spend time with myself and treat myself well; I feel like if I enjoy my own company, I will be less willing to settle for someone I don't really enjoy being with. So far, so good.
I love to shop alone. I've gone to the movie alone, sometimes there isn't anyone who wants to go with me. I don't think I've gone out to eat by myself though. I've done carry out. I'm ok with it really.
I have started going out to eat alone. I typically bring something to do. For instance, I have a group I've started so I am working on my to-do list for that.
I shop alone often and sometimes go to movies alone. I sometimes travel alone to get to a destination that has family/friends. And once or twice I have eaten alone in an airport restaurant

Yeah, I travel alone for work, but I always know people at the end destination. And I even eat alone at airport restaurants (I'm looking at you, Legal Sea Foods). Come to think of it, I have even enjoyed that. But I think that airports are a place you are expected to be on your own, so I feel less awkward.
Maybe I'll try going to a bar in the early evening and grading : ) That should make for some interesting comments...
