1. I love a traditional and gracious house like the ones in Home Alone and Father of the Bride (remake, though the original wasn't too shabby). But my secret crush is the Numb3rs House-
2. The set of the Big Bang Theory. Like Leonard and Sheldon would sit around and style bookcases as well as take posters to professionals for archival quality framing. Plus, who cleans for them? They don't live like ant science nerds I know.
1. What houses or rooms featured in films or TV shows appeal to you? I'm with you on Father of the Bride. That house was/is beautiful. As I try to think of answers for both of these, I'm stumped! Let me ponder this a bit longer.
ETA: Other houses I love, Nora's House from Brothers & Sisters and the house from The New Normal.
2. What spaces do you find distracting because they don't fit the characters? Still no answer

Sheldon cleans. And he has rules, so Leonard probably cleans too.
1) I also adore the Father of the Bride house. Other houses at the top of my list are the houses in Home Alone, Stepmom and What Lies Beneath. And since I adore a Craftsman I'll say I too, also love the house in Numb3rs.
I can't think of any houses that don't fit the characters. I think that's a big part of a location scout's job - to find a house that will suit the characters personalities and the show or movie plotline.

Also...Sheldon would ABSOLUTELY take a poster to a professional for archival quality framing. Any comic book nerd worth his shit knows the importance of acid free backing and light protection...
2. I can't think of any that are super far off in terms of decor, but most sitcoms set in big cities bother me because the apartments are just waaaaaay too big to be realistically affordable for the characters. From friends all the way up to two broke girls.
Another general pet peeve is styled bookshelves. Every single set ever has them...but like 0.2% of TV characters would have actually done that. Including PJ's apartment in the pictures above. There's no way her shelves would actually look like that.
It's not a home, but I really love Roger Sterling's office in Mad Men. And I hate Pete, but he has a piece of art in his office that I also love and I wish I was an art history person and could identify what it is so I could hunt for a print.
