It's been so busy here today! I sort of expected it, trying to tie up loose ends and all.
Weekend plans include building a small toy chest with the kid on Saturday (for those who didn't know, Lowes has a program called Build and Grow and they do projects on the weekends, usually free!). Kid is a little young for it, but... we are going to give it a try anyway.
Sunday is the benefit for my friend. It's going to be a long day.
***Also, my GBCNing is going to be cut back because of this new job, so anyone who wants to be Facebook friends with me send me a message so we can keep in touch!
This weekend we have our rescue reunion - which is basically a ton of goldens (fosters and ones that have been adopted) and other various dogs at a local park and we are helping out at the concession stand tomorrow. We're bringing our lab Willow, which I'm sure she will love, but our foster will stay home because he gets stressed so easily in new situations.
We're having some friends over on Saturday night to grill out.
Hola! I will pm you in case we're not fb friends already.
Tonight, plans for a movie with puppy guy and then going to meet up with his friends for a birthday gathering downtown. Not sure about the rest of the weekend yet. One of my friends is moving to Texas and her band is playing one last show at a casino in the area, so I may go to that.
I don't think we have much going on. Cleaning, laundry, errands... the norm.
H needs to do some work in the back lard. He tore out the pavers and now it's just dirt. I dumped DS' pool this morning to put fresh water in, and now the back lard is a mud pit. For reference, we have a 3 story townhouse. The deck off the back of the main floor is where we keep DS' pool and the back lard is under the deck, outside of the basement.
So, now H needs to go get more dirt to fill in where the pavers used to be and throw down some grass seed. Hopefully the grass grows quickly.
I want to be your friend but maybe I am too new... If I am not too new I will be your FB friend!
Today is the appointment to get my mole shaved that you all made me keep. I resent you. Whine. After that I have insane amounts of homework.
Saturday and Sunday will probably just involve cleaning because with my ankle and Boyfriend's dad being I'm the hospital our house is a disaster. I hate my house so much right now.
doglove, if I was anywhere close to you I would come to that golden event and I would bring a case of tennis balls. The idea of frolicking in a park full of golden makes me go squeeeeeeee!
Maybe the same color as our living room, so kind of a sage green-ish color. We've got yellow curtains in the breakfast nook and I think the green will complement it. It'll take maybe 45 minutes to do all of it, so the only reason I wouldn't do it is because I got lazy.

You've posted enough pictures of yourself that I don't think you are a weird stalker or anything, lol.
But who knows.
Good luck at the doctors! You'll be so glad you finally got it done. I know I was!

Haha I'm sure there will be TONS of tennis balls! I will snap some photos for you to see.

The first winter I was with H, he and i were walking through Central Park and it was snowing. We saw a 1 yr old golden chasing snowballs that his owner was throwing. There is nothing funnier than a golden leaping into a snow bank looking for a snowball.

Best breed ever.
I am in love with goldens now, I had no prior experience with them before started fostering them.

Yes please!!
One time in a park I started playing with a golden who was training to be a therapy dog. The owner was telling me that she had been working so hard to get him to ignore the tennis balls because they're on the bottom of the old people walkers. She was super happy with how he was doing and then they went in for his test and as soon as the walker came in the room he tried to eat the tennis balls. I laughed a lot, you can't separate a golden and their tennis ball.

dixienormous, your story reminds me so much of my doggie growing up. My dad is kind of obsessive about shoveling snow and Topaz loved to help. My dad would throw the big chunks from his shovel into the air and Topaz would leap and jump after them into the big snow banks. It was one of his favorite things.
doglove - once a golden gets in your heart they are there forever. It is OK though because they are such great dogs. I really am more of a cat person but I cannot resist a golden.

Oh, also, this is an AW. Boyfriend was 2.5 hours late getting home from work last night and I told him I was going to replace him with Benedict Cumberbatch so he brought me a gigantic frozen yogurt.
Let's just call it now and say that dixienormous wins the weekend... seeing me is the best plan anyone on this board has ever had for the weekend! Then again, maybe *I* win because I get to see my girl dixienormous and the ever-entertaining Le Petite Fleur!!! I can't wait!
Tomorrow we have two showings on our house. So we'll see what comes out of those. I'm a little bitter because I KILLED myself to get the house ready all by myself (mr. imoan was up at the cabin), was able to get rid of a 5 week old for the entire day so I could clean the house, managed to get out of the house with said 5 week old (which was a feat in and of itself) on time... and the fuckers never came into the house. Apparently they were on their way here with the realtor and decided they didn't like the area. DO A DRIVE-BY (or hell, look at a map) MOTHERFUCKERS!
I'm going to a goodbye BBQ for one of my coworkers tomorrow. And today I'm getting a mani-pedi. I think I might also do some shopping for my office and my living room. Time to spruce things up!
ETA: imoan and dixie win the weekend with their plans.

Someone told me to keep workplace crush behaves himself at our work thing next weekend. I told her I couldn't make any promises. LOL. Why do I have to do it? It's my off day.

The numbness from my mole removal is wearing off and my leg seriously hurts. I am sitting in the waiting room of Boyfriend's dads doctors office and I have to have my leg up on the couch because if I don't it is on fucking fire! I feel like that bitchy person with her feet up on the couch in public.

Imoan and Dixie are the winners by a mile!
DS woke up this morning sick. I talked to both of my bosses about it and let them know that I would try to come in, but I was having trouble finding anyone. One of them (the husband) told me "Well, sometimes you just have to be a Mom and forget about work. I appreciate that you're trying to come in though." 5 minutes later I talked to the wife. She was mad that it didn't look like I was going to be able to come in. UGH! So, I got my mom to watch him for a few hours so I could come in and get stuff done and my boss doesn't think I'm just trying to take a long weekend. But I'm sitting here in jeans and an oversized sweatshirt with minimal make up on, and I'm leaving early.
No plans for this weekend. H is fishing, and I'm not planning anything until I can gauge how DS is feeling.
