Not sure if this has been posted yet, but since I'm in my 3rd trimester I'm living vicariously through everyone else this summer. We try to travel internationally each year, but have to sit this year out
-Seattle for a wedding -Maryland for a wedding & Jersey shore with H's parents -Seattle for anniversary celebration for my parents -Jackson Hole, WY, for our anniversary -Seattle for a football game
Then we are gone all of September to Africa and the Middle East. We're doing Tanzania, Kenya, the Seychelles, and Dubai. I am beyond excited for that trip.

I've got a lot scheduled for this summer: -Spokane, Washington this weekend for a baby shower -Yakima Valley (WA State) for wine tasting over 4th of July weekend -Portland, Oregon for a wedding the first weekend of August -Miami and Baltimore work trip 3rd week of August -Chicago over Labor Day weekend -Washington DC/Baltimore/Annapolis work trip 3rd week of September -Santa Rosa (Northern California) for a work trip sometime in the next few weeks
During my work trips I try to tack on a few extra days for sightseeing, if possible!
4th of July weekend - road trip to Denver stops in Yakima, Boise & Salt Lake City. Seattle for a wedding in July. Kentucky for our anniversary in August. End of September we are doing 2 1/2 weeks in Europe.
I have a work trip to San Fran in July as well and possibly Hong Kong in August.
Nothing too exciting because we had our big anniversary trip to New Zealand and Fiji in March. (Here are blogs about those if you want to do some more vicarious living : NZ, Milford Track, Fiji.)
- Heading to NY to see family this weekend - Vancouver for my birthday at the end of July - Walla Walla for a weekend somewhere - Laguna Nigel for Labor Day weekend

We're doing a weeklong road trip. Stops will include Chicago, Kenosha, St. Louis, Louisville, and possibly the Pittsburgh area.
We're hoping to do a long weekend or two by ourselves - likely the Jersey Shore or Philadelphia. I'm sure we'll do plenty of day trips. We live very close to NYC so that's a nice day trip during the summer for us. Philly is a day trip if we want, but we like to spend the night sometimes.
Montreal is close enough to us for a weekend trip, but maybe we'll save that for the fall since our "thing" was always to go there around Thanksgiving weekend. And sometimes we hit Boston but there's been no talk of that for this summer (unless my family wants to go to a Sox game) - MH and I usually go around Christmas for an annual concert.
We're also hoping that our close friends (two other couples) will want to do a group trip down the shore, to Philly, or maybe back to Rehoboth Beach (Delaware) since we all went there a few years ago and loved it. One couple has a baby and another couple has a dog, though, so sometimes it's hard for them to go too far away or overnight.
I am so jealous you are going back to Walla Walla! My husband REALLY wanted to go back this summer but I told him I wanted to try wine tasting somewhere new (Yakima Valley) though I suspect I won't be quite as impressed with Yakima as we were with Walla Walla.

It's so awesome we couldn't stay away! We keep saying if it was only an hour closer to Seattle we'd get a condo there and go all the time. Yakima isn't bad, though. We went right after we first moved here to go white water rafting and the drive is much easier.

Aruba next month. I'd love to be able to tag along on DH's trip to Italy in August, but not sure that'll be in the budget since my sister is hoping we'll go to Disneyworld with them later in the year.

What?!?!! Let me know when you are out here!
It's the last week of July. I will let you know what my schedule is and hopefully we can get together.
South Africa and the Seychelles in a little over a week!
Have fun! Where will you be in SA? If you need any Cape Town tips, let me know!
Hi Blessed! We'll be in Cape Town for five days, then four days in Sabi Sands after the Seychelles portion of our trip.
Right now, the plan is to do the hop on, hop off busses (both routes), check out V+A waterfront, hopefully take the gondola up Table Mountain, do a day in the Winelands, a day doing a cape peninsula tour, possibly Robben Island.
I am sooooo excited for good food and wine!
Any tips on packing? I'm seeing that highs have been in the 60's and I'm not really sure how to pack. Also, I hear that even nicer restaurants are pretty casual as dress code goes.
I would love any recommendations you have, thanks!
We just got back from 2 trips, one to Seattle and Vancouver and one to DC. We are going to the beach for 2 weeks in July, and may do a weekend trip somewhere else drivable (Asheville, Nashville, Charleston) and I am going to Dublin in early Fall.

No big trips this year. It's just not in the budget between our house and our high-maintenance dog, plus all travel plans were on hold until we knew more about FIL's health.
We did a one night getaway to a state park for a wedding two weeks ago. We're doing a one night getaway to our hometown for a wedding in July. Our "big" trip this summer is in August. We're headed to South Haven, MI where we're staying in a suite on the harbor at a cute B&B and drinking lots of wine. I'm so excited. BEACH TIME!

Your Fiji blog made me so envious. Sigh. It looks and sounds like absolute heaven. Maybe we will make it there someday.
If you don't mind saying, about how much was your resort per night (or how much were other resorts on the islands that you looked into)?

Matamanoa was about $420 a night. Breakfast was included and entrees at dinner were around $30 FJD. The other resorts we looked at were closer to $500 or $600 per night, and it seems like most of our friends who have gone spent more like $1000 a night. I thought matamanoa was an incredible value for a private island with only one resort and an individual bure.

June- we are on our way home from 2 weeks in Panama/Colombia right now!
July- we are renting a cabin for 4 nights over July 4th with a huge group of friends
I am also planning to spend a weekend with my girlfriends in Nashville in August or September, and DH & I may sneak away for another weekend here or there, but this current trip took most of our vacation days for the summer.
Indiana for a few days in August. It's mostly dealing with financial stuff (and picking up some online shopping that's sitting at my parents' house), but I'm planning to go to GenCon to make it a bit more interesting.
I have high hopes that this summer will be better than last year, so I'm not really going anywhere. Plus, my boyfriend will be moving to Norway in the next few months, but we aren't sure when his visa will be processed. That has put a kibosh on serious travel plans.
Not really summer, but... Madrid for two nights in September. A friend decided that going out and getting drunk here in town for her birthday wasn't enough, so we have to go to Madrid to do it. I am nowhere near excited about this.
Moving from Paris to New York this summer with a little road trip across the south thrown in. We have a plane ticket to Atlanta, but are still planning where we'll go from there before settling back into our NY lives a week later.
We'll be going to Miami before the end of summer and are trying to meet up with some French friends in Maine in August.

This year we went to Florida beaches three times and we are taking the kids backpacking in Ecuador in July for ten days. I will probably also have two girls trip to New Jersey and Boulder.
Headed to Moorea and Bora Bora July 8th! Then annual Cooperstown (Lake Otsego) for a week with college friends. DH is working the 10th hole of the PGA (which is like a vacation for him) so I will be attending that a couple times, then friends from Long Island are coming up to stay with us for a few days (which will be like a vacation for me).

We did that for our honeymoon and loved it. Have a great time!!
