Five-year fix to me equals doing nothing (because I'm lazy) or sticking with white subway tile.
Also, the color of your granite reads brown/black/tan to me (it may just be the lighting); so, I'd probably stick with white grout. I want to suggest brown or tan grout, but can't find good images online to support that suggestion.
The former owners of my home. One day I was outside working in the front yard and my neighbor commented that it seemed I was doing a lot to the house. I said yes, it needed a lot of work. He looked confused and said "well, David & Raquel did a lot of work updating it." I managed not to laugh out loud. Barely. Ever since, I've thought of them by name instead of as the crazy former owners. :-)
lol David and Raquel. I wish I could call out our former owners by name. I just know there was an old woman named Gizella and that just doesn't have the same ring to it. Besides, it was just sad because she shouldn't have been living at home alone anymore because she was having a lot of mishaps (like almost burning the house down with a cigarette and not noticing the water heater had flooded the basement for a week until it started flooding the neighbors basement. Yikes.)
