What do you recommend? It's wood trim, the door faces east and has no awning, so it gets several hours of direct sunlight daily and is exposed to rain. I used Kilz outdoor trim paint the last time, but it started peeling within a couple years. It was water-based, which may have been my first problem. Does oil-based paint hold up better? And/or is there another brand that I should consider?
We used Sherwin Williams Duration on the wood trim at our last house. It held up really well, and never faded in over 10 yrs. It was used on a spot that was replaced because of termite damage, and it blended right in.
It was pricey, but worth it, and they do have sales often.

Thanks! I've only got two doorframes to paint (the rest of the house is vinyl sided) so the cost wont be a factor. Do I need to use a primer?

We painted over a teal blue color wth SW Clary Sage, and covered with no primer. We did two coats, but it was rough wood that is hard to get in one coat.
