I'm so tired of hearing about it. It's funny, but there has been virtually no talk of it on Twitter or Facebook tonight up til about 9 pm. Haven't checked either site since then.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of the guy. I'm not sure what it is, but I get a major douchey vibe whenever I see an interview with him on TV. That being said, I know his story and his accomplishments are so inspirational to so many, so part of me is really hoping the USADA is just being turds and the charges are false.
On the other hand, though, the pessimist in me is wondering if the USADA would have brought charges if they didn't have solid evidence to back those charges up, considering they've tried to stick doping charges to him in the past and have been unsuccessful thus far.
Either way, I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

I can't help but feel like there's something else going on in the background here.
I'm not a big fan of the man myself, but I can appreciate all that he's done and continues to do for both cycling and triathlon, as well as for his chosen causes. Very few professional athletes are so visibly dedicated to their charities.
That said, I hope that USADA either has a legitimate cause for filing charges or whatever their underlying issue is gets resolved quickly. I do feel badly for him, though.

This. He's one of those freaks of nature like Dean Karnazes.
Although I am in awe of his athletic ability, it sets my DB alarm off everytime I hear his name too.
I basically just read the article in the paper today, so I have very limited knowledge of the story. However, my question is, do traditional drug tests actually test for the methods of doping he is accused of? This is what they mention in the WSJ article: -EPO (increasing red blood cells) -Blood Transfusions ("blood doping") -Testosterone -hGH -Cortisone -Saline and plasma infusions

I've never really fully "trusted" Lance either--especially early on his answers were always too perfectly worded for my tastes. However, I do think he's an athletic freak of nature, and may have been able to win any of his tours without any enhancements anyway.
I think a lot of his perceived DBery is because he lived so much of his life on the defensive and being inconvenienced. Granted, it was his choice to be in a profession where random drug testing/reporting everywhere you go is required, but dang, I think I'd probably be a bit of a DB too, if I had to do that, and then defend myself every 2-3 years against some fairly serious charges. Again, not "defending him" because I do think he comes across in a bad way a lot of times.
And yes, I agree that at this point all the samples are too old to NOT have been tampered with, the statutes of limitations have all but run out, and I really wish that the USADA would put their money toward more progressive testing and/or expanding their drug testing roles.

I don't know why this is news to everyone: THEY ALL DOPE. THEY ALL FUCKING DOPE. The game is p stay one step ahead of the testing methods. They all dope. Period.

I agree.
I like Lance Armstrong. I think he has access to doping methods that are in front of the tests.
It's pretty well known that the TESTS are always one step behind the enhancements people. Not the other way around.
Thats funny, we saw him in person at the Texas 70.3 and I thought he looked kind of big.
I saw him at Lonestar too and thought he was smaller than I thought he would be. He is a phenomenal swimmer.
I looked at some pics and video footage of TX 70.3, and I'm having trouble seeing him as "big" in any way. Unless you mean that in a good way? Like big muscles? I thought he looked pretty lean, but then again, I'm not a super thin person.
I can't PIP. I'm completely computer stupid. The pics I have from Galveston (at the playground area, in front of the boat) he looks very top heavy. I remember thinking he didn't look like the other pros. BUT, the other pros aren't the biking machine he is.
