(I didn't do the kindess previewers!) My BFF and her husband finally have a travel date for their adoption. It's been 15 months in the making, but they will finally meet their daughter and bring her home in two weeks. To celebrate, I took her out for one last Girl's Night; dinner, pedicures, and we stayed at a local hotel.
When we checked in at about 10:30 PM, the front desk clerk was so nice and "upgraded" us to the top floor. When she did that I couldn't help but blurt out why we were there and thank her for doing something cool without knowing it.
We get up to our room and get settled in, opened a bottle of wine, and hear a knock at the door...It was the front desk girl. She had something in her hand. It was a card congratulating my BFF on the adoption, and it was signed by all the front workers who were switching shifts. Of course we were crying and just genuinely surprised.
Here's where I need some help. I want to make sure their bosses and corporate know just how amazing they were, but I don't want to inadvertently get them in trouble. Someone had to have gotten the card which may or may not mean they left building (it was in between shift change so it's possible she called someone on their way in I suppose). As I write this out, I think I'm being too neurotic as usual. I'm being stupid right? I just need to let the hotel owner and corporate know how wonderful they are right? There's nothing that could actually turn this into them getting in trouble right?
That is so nice of them! I would definitely let them know how wonderful they are. Someone could have left on their break or something, so they wouldn't really be able to say much..

No I don't think they could get in trouble for this... Someone may have taken their break to grab it- or they could have called someone on their way in for the shift change and asked them to pick it up? How sweet of them to do it, that was really nice :-)

As an adoptive mom for one reason and a human being for another, this totally made me tear up! Yes, you should totally tell corporate but you can just do it in a general "your staff made our trip so memorable and here's why"...so exciting and what a great thing you did as well to pamper her!
This is really sweet. It's great that you are commending them for it. If you are afraid that someone could get into trouble (which I doubt), you could just be very generic and say that they went "above and beyond to make the night very special" or something.

She's worth every minute. We can't wait for them to get her home!
