Why did I click the link? WTF is wrong with me?!? This is disturbing: ...to the mom who had to be wheeled right back into surgery after her husband literally ripped open her stitches during sex after she gave birth.

What the fuck.
I can not imagine. I had a csection so obviously I wasn't having sex after but how can a woman who had an episiotomy want to have sex? Or anyone who just pushed an 8+lb baby out of their vagina want too?

I have a hard time wrapping my mind around a woman wanting that also. Maybe these situations pop up in abusive relationships where the woman isn't able to say no?

At first I thought we were talking about during labor, I was thinking well, mayyyybe if contractions were light and irregular and you really wanted to get things going...

for real. i cannot imagine any non-abusive scenario in which that occurs. they should've hauled his ass to jail.

When my mother was in the hospital having my older brother her roommate had sex with her H. They knew other people were in the room and they were only separated by a curtain. Apparently it was also the woman that initiated it.

Hell no. I could not imagine that on top of contractions. And I could not imagine doing so right after giving birth. I mean, I was not pain free immediately after the kiddo slid out, KWIM? OUCH!
I didn't actually go into labor, and only had a few pitocin contractions prior to going back for my c/s, but even not having experienced true labor I didn't have a desire for sex. At all. I would venture to say we didn't have sex for at least a week prior to having our son. I just didn't have it me. Nor did I have a desire after my surgery and taking care of a newborn. Hell no. My sex drive sucked for months after having him, so I guess that's why I struggle with anyone being turned on during or immediately after the process. NO.
Back on the Bump, reading someone moaning about how hard it was waiting to get the 6 week PP 'all clear' from their ob/gyn would make me nauseous. I had no desire to think about sex even at that point. I can't imagine a non-abusive situation where a woman would want to knock boots that close to delivery.
