It is crazy here. We are still under a state of emergency. Schools are closed again on Monday. Summer holidays start Thursday at noon, not sure if we will be back before then. Some evacuated people have gone back hone today which is a major positive. Thanks for checking in xo

why exactly has it been flooding so much? A lot of rain? Snow melting? Or what? Glad you guys are okay.

It was a combination of excessive rain and melting snow from the mountains. The river always peaks this time of year but with the amount of rain that was happening it flooded.
I am good UnicornDog ! I live about 3 hours north of Calgary, but it is my second home. The majority of my friends live in those areas, many of them in High River which was severely affected.
Many of the film sets have been shut down for now as well which means that a lot of people have flood damage and have no work right now.
The biggest thing for many Albertans down south is that there is no such thing as flood insurance. If your sewer backs up, yes you are covered by insurance. But other than that.... nothing. So many people have these now flooded homes and no insurance to cover the damage.
