Health knowledgable people and people with skin allergies maybe you can help? MWOS ?
*this got super long so if you just read the last paragraph, answering those questions may be enough.
So I have pimples on my scalp from time to time and yes I pick on them. How often is affected by how anxious I am. Anyway, I have never had issues, I keep my scalp clean and all that jazz.
I'm having a horrible issue right now that I don't know if it is 1. Allergy to some product: I recently started using dry shampoo but I don't go more than a day after applying it before I actually wash my hair.
2.Over-infection with whatever virus I have in my throat. Because the symptoms in my scalp started around the same time.
So I had a couple of pimples that I picked and now they are not healing and super gross oozing transparent yellowish fluid (not pus) and crusting over. It is happening with every one on them, my scalp is itchy and I even think I this "crusties" are several places in my scalp even without a wound.
I know you're going to tell me to go to the doctor again and I plan to but. In the meanwhile. What can I wash my hair with that will help? Something for psoriasis? Is there an aveeno/oat kind of shampoo? What do people use for allergic reactions in their scalp?
I have this, although without the oozing, and it got a lot worse around the time of my wedding, so it can be stress induced. I know it's also worse with the change of seasons.
Hmmmm. I dunno. I think I'd stop the dry shampoo first and see if that doesn't help. Then try to find a natural shampoo with a pH close to healthy skin. Perhaps a baby shampoo that will be really gentle on your skin? Also. Stop picking at it. Hope it gets better soon.
I've had breakouts under my skin that would ooze the clearish stuff if disturbed.
I haven't had one in a long time come to think of it--not sure why. I would go see a dermatologist or dermatology PA. There may be some sort of cream or oral med that will help.
I think mine were better when I kept the area clean of product and when my overall health was good--make sure you're sleeping plenty and getting plenty of water.
I have been dealing with the same issue for over a year. My derm says it's folliculitis. She tested one of the crusty things for bacterial infection but it came back negative. I also get scalp flaking with this and itchiness, it's awful, I have tried everything (tea tree shampoo, Nizoral, Clobetasol, T-Gel shampoo, Head and Shoulders, Burt's Bees, you name it). I also pick at the crusty things, it's just a bad habit now.

how do you feel otherwise? Fever, chills, muscle aches?
Mary, sorry to answer so late. My only other symptoms since Monday have been really sore throat, some cough, fatigue; body ache just before that and some headaches. Swollen painful lymph nodes. No fever. I got tested for flu and strep and they were negative.
Haha at "only"
Thanks ladies. Google is evil but I know not to pay attention. MRSA my ass! Right?
