i just looked up the price of the lot across the street

that is more than my first house cost!

i'm not really sure, and i seem to not know the right google search to find this info.

however, one of michael's coworkers bought a lot in here before we bought our house. they bought at the market peak...just under 2 acres for around 175k and sold it last year for just under 70k, which leads me to believe that the people selling the one across the street are living on a cloud.

Haha, I'm not going there.  I'm just curious what the market is there right now.  I know some parts of Florida are starting to boom again.

Lots of that size sell for nearly $200k here too- in the middle of Iowa. Granted, the "nicest" part of Iowa, but ya. We were lucky to buy ours before the market rebounded.

Not sure where you are, but here's a crazy island price for you - $600k for just a lot, unimproved, seawall needed to be re-done, zero lot line (so maybe 1/4 acre or so? Certainly no more than 1/2). This is next door to my MIL's house, and it actually sold.

You can get a decent 4-5 br house on several acres for less than that out here.

Of course, you'd have to live in Arkansas. *-)
