The Supreme Court will send down it's ruling on gay marriage this week. First they're ruling on the constitutionality of DOMA and then on CA's Prop 8.
I'm SO EXCITED. I predict (if anyone cares) that they'll rule DOMA is unconstitutional bc marriage is for the states to decide and then decline to rule on Prop 8 bc it's a state issue (and therefore the appeals court ruling that overturned Prop 8 will stand).

I am kind of excited about this also! And I agree with you on what they will probably rule. I mostly interested in seeing which justices vote which way.

Right there with you. I'm pretty obsessed with the Supreme Court, it's my favorite branch y far. I definitely agree with your predictions. I think it's spot on. Exciting!
My phone buzzes when there's a big story from the NY Times, and I saw the headline "Supreme Court rules...." And nearly peed myself. But it's on Affirmative Action, which is important, but COME ON, they always do this. They save the best for last

I thought the same thing. It's like they've got their very own PR firm helping them build anticipation/maximize drama.
This isn't nerding out, this it's an interest in human rights.
True. But I get excited about almost every case that comes down. And often try to predict the outcomes. It was a game my friends and I played in law school and I still do it. Hence the nerdiness
