Is your LO drinking out of a non straw sippy? I would like Calista to start drinking out of one since they leak a lot less. How did you get them to drink out of them with tilting their head.
I can't remember at what age and how we started Lydia on them.
We started her with a non straw sippy from the start. At first, she just sat there, but she figured it out pretty quickly. Now I am having a hard time getting her to use a straw one, ha.
We just pantomime holding the cup up. It helps when its one with handles. We hold our hands to the sides of our faces (like we're holding the cup) tilt our heads back and go "up up up!". He goes back and forth between straw and non-straw sippies pretty easily.

This is us too! E always wants to tip his straw cups up now.
Daycare required that we use these sippy cups and after trying several different ones, E can definitely drink from these the best.
To get E to tilt his head back, we'd point up at the light above the table while he was trying to drink out of it.

Same here. She picked the non straw sippy quick. I've had zero luck with the straw ones she tries to tip it back. I kind of wish now I had started with the straw instead.

DD2 kept stealing DD1's cups we gave her (we use the take and throw cups for DD1 just for ease of mind that we don't get stuff everywhere!). So, we knew she could drink from them. They figure it out pretty quickly. Try putting something in there you know she will like and will work hard to get it as incentive.
We started with the straw cup, but now she uses Tommy Tippee cups and does great with them. I find that I have had almost no leaking with them, so they're the best. She doesn't do well with straws anymore because she tries to tip them. I got her to start tipping the cup by holding it for her. She's not a fan of me doing stuff for her, so eventually she just grabbed it and it went fine from there.

Those are some of my favorite, very little leakage.
Sometimes, during meals, and especially when we're using a cup with no handles, H will hold Owens sippy up for him to drink from. That's when he calls him a little gerbil.

We also have Nuk soft spout cups ... actually, we have random bits and pieces left over from H, so we're just happy when we find a top that fits a bottom.
