Poor thing. Do you have someone who can get the prescription for you? Or my go to when I don't have my migrane meds is a Tylenol PM and an excedrine. Helps me nap through until the worst is over or I can send someone for my meds.
Dilaudid makes me pukey and does nothing for my pain. I would always do Excedrin Migraine + Phenergan until I knew that the migraine was gone for good.
Aren't there meds to treat migraines instead of just narcotics? Dilaudid is fantastic though.
Are you talking preventatives or meds directed towards migraines? there are both but preventatives are only prescribed for frequent migraines (4 or more a month typically) and meds directed at migraines are usually for the on set. once you hit the ER they usually give you the good stuff, usually paired with an anti-nausea med since its usually to far gone for the migraine meds to give satisfactory relief.

Diluated was like magic liquid in my veins lol.. made all the pain go away.
I am so sorry about your migraine, I had a minor one, so i cant imagine it being as bad as having to receive diluated for it. Go get your prescription filled ASAP.. can someone pick it up for you?
I'm on a daily migraine preventative (topomax). I ended up in the ER after a *30* day migraine ( was getting daily shots of imitrex, which did NOTHING). (My bp was seriously, dangerously high when I went to the ER because of the pain.) The ER gave me morphine and then a neuro gave me a script for topomax. It was a life changer for me. I hope you find some relief soon!!

Are you seeing a neurologist? I would call them before going back to ER if you are. I'm afraid that you're going to get rebound headaches from all the drugs. My neurologist has very specific rules on which drugs I can take when to prevent the rebound HAs.
Do you get them often? If so, I'd definitely think about trying to take a magnesium supplement, or talk to your doctor about possibly a low dose blood pressure med(these work to prevent for a lot of migraine sufferers)...unless you've already done those things, in which case you can ignore me ha ha!
ugh those migraines are the worst. Have you talked to your doctor about these migraines? Do you get them frequently? I ended up getting on a couple prescriptions that I can take at the first sign of a migraine. (can't remember the names at the moment). I agree with others with trying to get that prescription filled and see how taking that for 24 hours along with Advil or IBU works instead of a 2nd ER trip. Also, have you eaten anything today? For me, if I don't get enough to eat, especially protein, that it takes a lot longer to get over a migraine. Hope you start feeling better!

A thousand times this. My ER cocktail as determined by my neurologist is Toradol, Benadryl, Compazine, and a loading dose of Depacon. Narcotics usually just make things worse.
Sorry you still aren't feeling better. I have been prescribed dilaudid twice, and aside from making me high and dizzy, they did nothing for me. Hope you feel better really soon.
