Are there any formulas that are soy-free?

Pretty sure there is for kids who have allergies but they get pricy fast.

yes, quite a few. L was soy and dairy intolerant and we used alimentum.

DH has so many stomach issues, that I am erring on the side of caution and researching our options in case our child inherits this from him.

DH has so many stomach issues, that I am erring on the side of caution and researching our options in case our child inherits this from him. 

you may end up lucking out of them .  L grew out of the soy and the dairy intolerance by a year (which wasn't an allergy, and, so far as i understand, makes it more likely that they'll grow out of it quickly), and my pedi said there's no need to START soy and dairy free with this kid either, since everyone is so different.  that said, i was soy and dairy intolerant as a baby too. 

and i'm not certain that all formulas are soy FREE (even alimentum), but they break down the proteins that cause the soy reaction in most kids.

AND sometimes you can get a prescription for them, which can reduce cost.  we couldn't (i can't remember if this was an insurance thing or the way my kid's reaction was categorized), but i know people who could.

I´m hoping to breastfeed without too many issues, but just in case, I definitely want to be armed if I cannot and my kid is allergic or intolerant.   I suppose there is no point worrying about it until it happens.
