I was trying to figure out what happened to the petunias I put in near the front door a couple weeks ago. Then this weekend, I was cutting the grass and apparently startled two baby bunnies out of the hostas near-ish that area of the yard. Hmm.
I would not be surprised. It seems its quite the year for bunnies around here too. I had one park himself in our lawn and eat grass down to the nubs in a nice circle around himself.
After that I bought natural rabbit deterrent spray and he moved to the neighbors. Though I'm pretty sure he's been back to graze on my spinach crop. This year, I sympathize with the Farmer in the Peter Rabbit story.
Call the salon where you get your hair cut ask for some hair, sprinkle it around the plants it will keep the rabbits away. They don't like the human smell and will leave them alone.

Does dog hair work? As you might guess from my sig, we have an abundance of that around.
Dog hair I don't think will work. Has something to do with the human smell. As long as it is human that's the way to go. If you need more any salon would be happy to give you some, it's not like they do anything with it besides throw it away.

Lurker chiming in - What is this? Is it toxic? Where do you get it? I'm looking for something to keep my bun from chewing on my walls when I move to my new place.

The stuff I got is by I must garden and says it uses food-grade ingredients. Everything I read online noted that the spray needed to include putrecent egg, this one does, as well as garlic and other oils. It is a great product so far. It's pretty stinky when sprayed, so I wouldn't think it would be good in enclosed spaces, plus the oils may stain a wall.

Hmm okay, thanks for the info! Maybe not the best route for me and Bandit. ;-)
Rabbits will pretty much treat your garden as a salad bar. I found droppings from the cat's litter box and effective deterrent out back, but I was having the most trouble with the beds near my front door and didn't want the smell there. I'm told Dial soap will also repel them- the cheap gold kind.
That said, what I assumed my rabbits were doing turned out to be deer. The deer were also emptying my birdfeeders each evening.
