I don't know if you've seen this article, but DH pointed it out to me. IMO, they all end up looking like losers, but I had to post this for the wedding guru probies.
Would I give a food basket? No, but I would enjoy it if gifted to me. What inconsiderate fuckheads. Honestly, I don't care how much I don't like a gift, I will never let the gift giver know... ever.
I cannot wrap my brain around this. What was that woman thinking? I got a "crappy" wedding gift- a dollar store frame that said "Our Wedding" from DH's cousin and his wife. We served filet mignon at our wedding so it wasn't a cheap meal or venue. Did I say anything to them? Absolutely NOT. The frame was still a thoughtful gift (even though it wasn't our style and we never used it) and I graciously thanked them for it and for the honor of their presence on our wedding day. Because in the end, having them there was all that really mattered.

oh man. I've received some hideous gifts from family, and many times no gift at all for various events where gifts are usually expected. The point is not in the gift grabbing. That is so sickening.
