It went okay. She's just about 15.5 months today
Stats: 16lbs 13oz (way under 1%) up 6oz since 12 months. 28.5in tall (4%) 17.5 head circ (11%)
Doctor is not worried at all this she doesn't talk. She says the fact that she understands and does tasks when asked is great. Just because she doesn't talk or mimic is no big deal.
Overall she isn't too terribly worried about her weight but she has decided it's time to start whole milk or pediasure.
Then we have a weight check in a month. If she hasn't gained what they want her to, then we have to do some labs to see if she has gastro issues. Her doc has always been good about keeping DH and I's size in mind (4'10" and 5'5") and realizes she is probably just going to be petite, but I guess she just wants to rule out any issues. She even noted that she does have visible rolls and clearly she's not skin and bones but she's just a peanut.
She was pretty impressed with her coloring skills though. Haha. And she thought it was funny that she kept pointing at hubby's keys on his belt loop and screaming and pointing at the door.
I think Peyton is finally starting to correlate what happens at the doctor office. She was fine in the waiting room but the moment we got in the patient room she started crying and clinging. so sad.
So send your weight packing vibes this a way please.
That's not much off from Allison. At A's 15m she was 17lb on the dot and 28.5 also, not sure of head. You are petite I don't think it's abnormal to have a peanut
Aw, little sweet girl! I hope she takes to the whole milk and Pediasure for you. It sounds like you have a good pedi who is proactive without making you worry too much.

I am glad most of the visit went well. Weight gaining vibes sent your way.
Henry has a huge head, huge, and the doc was concerend for a minute, but apparently I have a large head. I think a lot of times kids that are on the ends of the averages, it is hereditary.
PS) I am a little jealous that she can still fit in the bucket seat. There is a child at our daycare that is almost two and still fits in the bucket seat. I miss those days.

Haha. We stopped using the bucket seat right before her birthday. It was getting too hot so we were hoping a convertible would be cooler. We stopped carrying the bucket in and out around 8 months because she hates be contained so it wasn't really a convenience. Plus we lived in a second story apartment and I'm apparently really weak. Haha.

lol, the same thing happened when I was a baby. I think I've told this story before, but my mom kept having to bring me back as a nb so they could measure my head. One day my dad came with us, and the pedi was like "... oh. I see where she gets it now."
Laura, it sounds like you have a good pedi. I hope things go well at the followup.
Hahahah, that's pretty funny. DH picks on me a lot now about my big head!
@lauranicole You burst my bucket seat bubble, I didn't think of those logistics. I just long for it when he is asleep in the car. You aren't weak, carrying a baby up to the second floor is hard work, not matter how you look at it.

I think she's proportionate and perfect! But I totally understand the anxiety and pressure for her to gain. I hope she takes either the milk or pediasure to ease your mind. If she doesn't, do you have a blender? A really hates wcm, so I do make her smoothies sometimes to a) get her to take some and b) up her protein fat intake by adding avocado, flax seed, full fat yogurt, even a little bit of olive oil sometimes. I thin it out with milk so she can take it in a straw sippy. Maybe that will work with Pey if milk fails!
Good luck and keep us posted. The bright side is she gained!

Thanks for the tips! We ran by the store and got whole milk and some full fat yogurt. She's really tired and cranky right now, just about nap time, so we haven't tried anything yet. Hopefully she takes to it well.
Thanks for everyone's kind words. I know she is fine and healthy but I just hope she gains enough to ease the pedi's mind.
Hey! We've had concerns with Laney's weight too so I know how you're feeling. I'm sure everything is fine. We did labs (because she had persistent fevers as well) and it was fine but I was happy to see nothing was really wrong. I think your dr is good for noticing but not over worrying. My friend did pediasure for her daughter for a few moths and it really helped her gain some weight and now she's on regular milk.

Hopefully she'll start to gain soon. A is on the lower end on weight, hasn't been gaining much, and her percentage keeps dropping. BUT, she LOVES WCM. LOVEs it! She'll chug it at night, and I'll be interested to see what her weight is like in a few weeks when we go. That plus full fat yogurt (which is harder to find than I thought) is thickening her up....I think. She at least feels a lot heavier. I'll send you some weight gaining vibes.

We buy yobaby or yotoddler which are full fat. They're pretty easy to find around here! If you're looking for full fat plain then I'm not sure.
I usually buy a big container of plain and add applesause or something similar to it. I like the Motts medleys with veggies and fruit in it. It's just more cost effective. But, I wish they had an inbetween size so I didn't have to get the ginormous one.

We get those too. They ARE easy to find and are the perfect little size!
