I have started thinking about Christmas this year.
My sister and BIL just bought a new house and mentioned wanting a hammock, so my other sister and I are watching for one on end of summer clearance sales for them. I'm also trying to find more personal gifts for people rather than just buying stuff this year and that takes a lot more time!
Also, no gifts for inlaws this year because they suck! We haven't spoken to them since MIL's BSC outburst at Easter.
And, DH says Santa only brings 3 gifts because Baby Jesus only got 3 gifts so that is a lot less shopping for me to do too!
I realized yesterday that Christmas is on a Wednesday and we get NO days around it off from work this year. I took an entire week off last year, so I don't think I'll be able to take any extra this year. :*( Just Christmas Day itself.
Noo that stinks for us too! Although, I was already thinking of staying home for Christmas and not seeing extended family, so that might work. But I did want to see my family on Christmas Eve and it will suck if my H has work and we can't go.

I'm dealing with this too, and have actually already shed a few tears over it! We are staying here and won't spend Christmas with my family (parents, sisters, and grandparents) for the first time in my life. It's going to be miserable to be so far from them, knowing what they are doing, and knowing that we're missing it. DH keeps telling me that we just have to make up our own Christmas traditions, so I'm already trying to think of fun ideas for us to do.
Our office is closed on Christmas Eve and I have Monday's off so this year I really luck out. I took Thurs and Fri off for vacation so I have off till the New Year. Be jealous
MIL starts planning the holidays in September, and she says if H and SIL are still fighting then, she doesn't want to celebrate. No gifts, no coming over for Christmas dinner, no nothing. The little local family on my side is planning to travel (my aunt to see her son in the navy, my sister to OH to see her dad, and my grandparents to PA to see other relatives). It's not like it will be the end of the world if it's just the three of us, but it will feel kind of sad and lonely to me. Getting to to family things with E and introduce her to family traditions for the first time is really why I started liking Christmas again after over a decade of hard core grinching.
As I was putting H to bed tonight, she asked if her birthday was soon. I said (thanks to this thread) that it's in about six months, right before Christmas. She then began to grill me on the whereabouts of the Elf (I used our creepy Elf on the Shelf to hide her little advent calendar gifts last year; she had a clue in her calendar, then she had to find the elf with her treat). I told her he was at the North Pole. She asked what he does there all year. I said, "Uh, oh ... he makes toys." She wanted me to be more specific. I said he puts wheels on cars and puts the arms and legs on dolls. Then she asked what Santa does; I said he inspects the toys. The she said, "I know Santa's not real. I know you bought the presents."
She also informed me last year that she didn't believe the Elf really brough her the stuff for her advent calendar, because he obviously couldn't drive because his hands are tied together.

oh geesh, I am not ready anytime soon for the santa discussion.
I'm one of those annoying assholes who didn't want to lie to her kid, blah blah blah. But then I asked her if she believed in Santa, and she basically told me that she thinks I'm full of shit. Maybe she'll humor me for a few years at least.
