E is on one nap a day, but no matter what that nap ends at one hour on the nose. Doesn't matter how long he is awake, time of day, activity beforehand, when he eats, etc. His night sleep hasn't changed (6:30-5:30) and he definitely is still tired after only an hour. If I go in right at an hour, pick him up and hold him/rock him he will go right back to sleep and usually do another hour. Not that I don't love rocking him, but I would love for him to get the sleep he needs IN THE CRIB (he owes me due to that 5:30 wake time, lol)
He falls asleep on his own for nap and bedtime, and he sleeps through the night. I don't know how to help him nap longer, though! Anyone have a similar problem or has luck fixing this?
(Typed on my phone as I hold him in his room so he will take a longer nap...sigh)
I have no advice and am in the same boat as you. DD is only on one nap a day and it is always 90 minutes- not nearly long enough IMO. Like E, it doesn't matter how much activity or the time or anything, the girl won't sleep longer and I know she's still tired. I feel like @starbound is the nap expert. Maybe she can share some of her endless wisdom!

Yup this is exactly us too.
Sometimes if I go in and hold her I can her another 30 min but I'd rather be getting things done
Ugh guys this is a pain, I hear ya. Both my kids have had phases of short nap. The only thing that has worked for me is making sure the room is totally dark & warm enough and using white noise. We also pushed nap a bit later in the day. Carbs for lunch and then nap.
Mine has his nap at 12pm or 12.30 and he sleeps till about 3. Usually he will wake up/stir/whine at some point but I just leave him. DS1 on the other hand never stirred and always sleeps right through. DS2 is a high maintenance sleeper and needs all the conditions right! Same at night.
Hope it's just a phase for you guys.. It's so frustrating when they clearly need more sleep but won't sleep longer.
