My best friend just had baby #2 last night/early this morning. Baby #1 was a vaginal birth and this one was a C-section because the baby was breech. She and I have been texting all day, and she is baffled by something she is experiencing. This is a friend who tells me everything, like telling me all about the grape jelly discharge after she had her first.
So she texted me this morning that she had an itch down there, so reached down and just barely scratched. And almost had an orgasm. She texted and was like wtf is going on? She speculated that maybe it's related to the catheter that's still in?
Like an hour later she texts "Omg if my sheet touches me, I get off. I'm like wearing a diaper and I'm bleeding, but I'm so sensitive down there."
Then in another hour texts, "So the nurse came to change my pad and it was ridiculous. It was like trying to stop orgasm. DH (she used his name) was laughing so hard. She thought she was hurting me."
Two hours later (and after the catheter is removed) she says that she's like one of those women who stay at home to masturbate all day. She says the nurse changed her pad again and she had to pretend that it tickled.
She's too embarrassed about it to actually tell the nurse or doctor, and has only told me and her DH. Has anyone heard of this? lol Don't we have someone on here who is a labor and delivery nurse?

Response to the increase of blood flow to the area making things more sensitive? If baby was breech it may have been pressing on blood vessels and now that the normal flow is returned it's putting things on hyper alert.
Hmmm.... If any of my patients have ever had this happen, they didnt tell me. Lol I can't think of a reason it would happen, except maybe the pitocin she is getting? Pitocin is oxytocin, the "love hormone" among many other things. The surgery wouldn't have caused this for any specific reason that I can think of. Crazy
This morning it was pretty funny and even now she's still laughing a bit about it, but I told her if it doesn't go away soon she should say something to a doctor or nurse.
ETA: she does say it's not quite as strong now as it was this morning
Huh. I think I do remember having some increased sensitivity down there after my c-section, actually.
Nothing even close to an orgasm, but I think the pressure from baby down there had been deadening the area a bit and when that was gone, it was like extra blood flow at all times.
She should mention it. Just phrase it as "hyper-sensitive" or something, instead of "hey, nurse, I'm getting off every time you touch me."

Wait, what? Lol who are these women? Is it like a club?
It happened to me, but only once when the nurse hosed me off down there while the catheter was still in. I was so mortified I didn't say anything to the nurse at the time.
I just got another text from her that she's so sensitive that she is unable to pee without it causing an orgasm. She definitely needs to say something.
I haven't experienced anything nearly this debilitating, but I have had periods in my life where I've caused myself injury from masturbation because it never seems to be enough.

How/what?
Don't google it unless you want to see horrific pictures, but...
Vulval Haematoma is a bleeding into the vulva (the area of the labia minora). A haematoma anywhere is induced when there is damage to a blood vessel without damage of the skin, so, the blood doesn't go out of the body, but remains in the tissue. Very painful.

I had a vaginal birth, 3rd degree tear, with no catheter or meds and I had something similar (not quite as strong as what your friend has). It was gone within one week of my daughter's birth. I am still super sensitive and now orgasm quite easily, even two years later. I never did bring it up with my nurses at the time, it was actually rather embarrassing, but I seem to have recovered, so there is hope for her!
I feel so bad for her because now she is having really bad pain when she tries to pee. It took her over an hour to pee, and this was after taking percocet, and she had to pour ice water over herself while peeing.
I've always thought that if I ever give birth, I would prefer a c-section to avoid all of the trauma to the vagina, but she's having way more vagina issues with her c-section than with her vaginal delivery. Her vaginal delivery was a breeze (relatively speaking).

Has she told the nurse what is going on? My md (marketing degree ) thinks this sounds like it could be a nerve misfire type thing. Let the drs know, they've heard it all before!
