I have a 2001 Toyota Corolla. DH bought a Recaro ProRide (we used to have Recaro seats in an old car and when he found out they made car seats for LOs, he HAD to get one). It fits in my car, but I can't really check out my blind spot and it really makes me feel unsafe. Does anyone have experience with the Graco MySize 70 in a small car? We prefer to use the latch system, which is not in the middle seat, so it has to go behind me or passenger. Thoughts? and many thanks in advance if I don't have to post it "over there"
eta: I just looked up the price on amazon vs TRU- it's almost $100 MORE on amazon! What a ripoff!!!
We have one in a Honda accord. It's not a small car, I'd say its average. I am tall and I have plenty of room behind me. The thing I like the most about it is because the headrest is so easily adjustable I can just put it in its lowest setting when Silas isn't in it, and it doesn't block my view at all. When he is in it (on the third setting) he still doesn't block my view. I can try to attach a pic in a minute. I find this seat to be incredibly low profile, easy to install, and super easy to use.
Here's a picture taken from my perspective looking behind my shoulder. As you can see, the mirror (I would get a finger wag from CSFTL) takes up more space than the seat does.

Thanks for the pic! I am really leaning towards getting it as "my" car seat for J and have DH install the Recaro (which IS really nice, I admit) in his Yukon, which has plenty of room!

I would go for it. My SIL has a proride and it would not fit in our car. Our second seat is a britax that also would not fit in my car, we have it installed in our explorer. I got a sweet deal on it at a BRU sale with a coupon, it came to $140 I think. I will say there was talk of the harness being difficult to tighten, or not being able to tighten it at all. Graco was replacing any seat with these issues, and I'm fairly certain that the newer models have been fixed. We never had an issue with ours though.

I have a mirror too. One time her chest buckle came undone, not sure if she did it or it wasn't properly snapped the first time, and because I had the mirror I could tell and fix it. So +1 for my mirror.
Do you have a BRU nearby? Most will let you try one of the display seats in your car. Install it the way you would normally, and sit in the car to check things out. I have that seat in my Hyundai. It's not a big car, but it is a hatch, so it's not a super good measure of how it would be in your car. I don't have any issues with sight in my car.
AND....DH and I both have mirros. I don't love mine, but it was a hand me down. DHs is from BBB and I love it. It hooks on the headrest super tight and adjusts well. I'm totally going to get one soon.

Mirrors FTW! I love my mirror. It's strapped on tightly, there's no way it's coming off "in the event" of an accident.
We just stopped at the store and DF took Silas in, so here's a picture of the headrest all the way up, and all the way down. The child can ride RFing in this seat till 1in from the red handle-even with the rest all the way up. (I'm going to double check that 1in rule, but I believe it's correct, making the Mysize 70 the highest rf'ing seat on market)
