I could use some general cheering up. Share something good that happened in your life today, yesterday, recently. Or post a good gif/picture. Show me the happiness people - I'm having trouble finding it myself today.
My city (Calgary) had substantial flooding over the weekend. There was a public call out for volunteers to help certain communities. They were hoping for/expecting 1000 people and had 7000 show up. I love my city.

I finally get to meet my ILs to be this week. I'm excited that I feel like I GET to meet them instead of HAVE to meet them because my last IL's were freaking loony toons and sucked ass.
I went back to work today after having Leo. I was having a tough time. I got out of work, picked up the kids and went off to my son's baseball game (he's 8). He pitched a whole inning and struck out three kids in a row. i was so proud. I then got a text from my friend Leslie asking me to meet her at her at a local restaurant for a beer. My DH said "Go go.. i got this" I went and a bunch of my friends were there. We did trivia and drank a few beers. It was so nice! I have lost a few crappy friends lately but I truly have some really great ones. I was so happy to get a night out and see my friends.
Nada I sent a bunch if local military over today and I know f quite a lot of islanders that used their vacation days to go out with Red Cross. We are there for ya!
It's amazing. A friend of mine had his basement pumped out by some random guy and his teenage son from Saskatoon for free. He just showed up with his HVAC truck and started pumping. All these amazing stories are making me so emotional.

All right, I've got kid funnies.
They're both really into My Little Pony and sometimes they decide which character I'm going to be. Yesterday I'm in the kitchen, and DD1 sings out from the bathroom, "Princess Celestia, I pooped!" (We still double-check her poops for wiping clean, so she always tells me.)
DD2 bolts into the bathroom with me, demanding, "Let me see! Let me see!" Peeks into the bowl. "WHOA. You DID poop."
DH is missing two toes on one foot from a barefoot bicycle incident as a toddler. Tonight, DD1 asked him why he didn't have those toes, and he told her about what happened, and that a doctor had to cut off his toes in order to fix up his foot.
She looks at him and asks very matter-of-factly, "Sharp scissors, or non-sharp scissors?"
I completely lost it. That was the best laugh I've had in days.
My happiness of the day: Finally got to get a two mile run in without pain. I will be racing again in no time. Also - I live in an amazing state with an impressive woman who fillibustered her heart out today. It was awesome.

H rode a bus today with a duck as a seatmate, and he thought the duck might have been sticking its tongue out, but he couldn't tell. This turned into a debate about whether or not ducks can stick their tongues out, and I told him to do duck research and get back to me. But I accidentally wrote dick research.
So I got one email with pictures of ducks sticking their tongues out, and one email with a picture of John McCain sticking his tongue out.
That is pretty much the best thing that has happened to me today, lol.
LeggsBenedict Tell me he has a pip of this duck on a bus.
farmvillelover A number of things really. Nothing significant or overwhelming. I struggle with depression and am really having a hard time right now. I go back to the psych on Thursday so hopefully I can get some help there. Just overall feelings of isolation and general crappiness that is probably really due to nothing on the outside but at a cellular level on the inside. I'm okay, I promise.

One of the kids I work with (he is 4 and coping with autism) verbally responded to a question on his own today without any help for the first time in the program so far. He also went up to another child in the group and gave her a hug when she fell and hurt herself.
ETA: When he came into our program 5-6 months ago he was completely non-verbal
My oldest daughter cut her hair for the firt time in her life lol . She's 4 years old and she decided she didn't want long hair anymore and she wanted to give it to kids who really need it. I was so proud but also so sad. She looks beautiful and she loves her new hair cut....plus, It's going to a great cause!

My sister shared this story with us the other day and it made me laugh so now I'm sharing it with you.
She, her husband and her almost 5-year old (very precocious) daughter, S, were having dinner with some friends.
About midway through dinner, S loudly said, "Excuse me! Excuse me!" (So polite!) When everyone turned to look at her, she said, "has anyone noticed I'm the only one here without a fucking drink?"
