Since it's come up several times with the J Crew skirts; is there anyone else out there who has a stigma about wearing tweed in summer?
I can't get over the thought that no matter how bright, tweed is more of a Oct-March fabric and shouldn't be worn in summers. Is that me being outdated or Midwest train of thought? Any others agree?
Tweed is generally a thicker (thus warmer) fabric, so I just can't get behind wearing it in the summer months. To me, its like wearing a wool sweater in the summer, haha.

I agree. It looks off. Like corduroy. I can't see myself wearing that in the summer either.

Yes! Corduroy definitely doesn't belong in summer. I see hipster dudes wearing gross skinny cutoff cords as shorts all the time here in the summer. Cutting them into shorts doesn't make them summer-worthy, lol. Its still corduroy dude.

I don't have this problem. I bought the tweed skirt and I'll definitely wear it in the summer. If it was not bright pink, I wouldn't, but with the color I feel its fine.
I also bought espadrilles where one part of them is suede and I know others don't like that either.... but it's cute on my shoes and is otherwise open toe, so I don't have an issue with it.
if I were somewhere really hot I wouldn't. But I'm in san Diego and we get chilly mornings and evenings, and our highs have been in the low 70s lately where I live.

I'm fine with tweed in the warmer months as long as it's a brghter color and styled appropriately (like a pencil skirt with a short sleeved top). I wouldn't do tweed pants or a blazer in the summer.
I'm totally fine with long sleeve/short combos. My bottom half is never cold and my top half freezes. I'm a big offender of wearing a skirt and a long sleeve cardigan all day.
