WTH do I do? I had my hair highlighted yesterday. I naturally have dark brown hair but it had remenants of my fall highlights that blended well (a reddish tint). Yesterday, my stylist highlighted the majority of my hair blonde, a blonde that does not suite my skin tone and looks way off. I really feel like I have frosted tips from the 90s!!! I want to cry everytime I think about it or catch a glimpse in the mirror. I'm going to see her in an hour or so to let her know my dissatisfaction (which I'm not really blaming her). I just want to know what my options are for fixing it! Any ideas?
Why wouldn't you blame her for your dissatisfaction? I mean, she's supposed to be the professional who knows what she is doing, right? Plus, if you told her you wanted highlights like you had in the fall, wouldn't she have just done the same thing? Not that you need to be a bitch to her or anything, but just sayin'
That said, she could probably use a toner to tone down the blonde color a little bit so its not so harsh.

Thanks for letting me vent.. I want to wear a hat everyday until I can get it fixed, it's depressing! I'm going to see her in a few, so wish me luck! I think she knew when she was rinsing my hair yesterday because she seemed sort of panicky and said "I'm going to do a glaze on top to blend it all together." I knew then something was wrong! :drink:
Oh gosh, that's awful I've definitely been there myself and it's the worst feeling ever. I walked out of the salon with two inches of WHITE hair that blended into much prettier blonde highlights further down. She even did a toner to try to give those roots some better color and no luck. Fortunately, within a week the white calmed down a really pretty blond and it was no problem. I'm sure she can do a decent toner and fix you right up.
This same visit to the salon also resulted in a 'bang trim' that took 4 weeks to grow out to touch my EYEBROWS! Can you imagine?!?! I really did cry about that and there's no fix for that. Just lots of tiny clips and bobby pins to hold them back
I have dark brown hair, and my stylist puts a glaze over my highlights to help them blend. I'd go back tothe salon, and ask them to do something like that.
My hairdresser used a toner after she did highlights to dampen the highlighting a bit. Also remember that sometimes the shock of the lighter color is part of what's contributing to what you see. Have her use some toner and then give it a couple weeks to get used to the new look. If you still hate it, have her do an all over color.
