Any of you cook them yourselves? I'm having a minor obsession with them and I'd like to make them. I've been looking at recipes, but if any of you have a tried and true recipe I'd like to see it...

I can ask Boyfriends mom for tips next time I see her.
I would also highly reccomend the cookbook Starting with Ingredients. It is sooo technical and highly specific/informative. I haven't ever made any of the mussles recipes but everything I have ever tried from this book has been amazing. I also find myself pulling it out all the time as a referance guide for what ever I am making. I have acutally read it cover to cover because I think the information is so accurate and interesting.

I might have to look into that, Mel. We have SO MANY cookbooks. Our general go to is The Joy Of Cooking. I'm finding some good recipes online and they're pretty simple. seems the hardest part is cleaning the beards (heeheehee) and determining which ones are dying/dead.

I have so many cookbooks too. I also find so much stuff online and on pinterest but this cookbook is totally worth it. It goes into detail on EVERYTHING! There are three pages on the different types of apples and what each kind of apple is best for, then the actual recipes start. It also goes into detail on how to clean mussles/determine if they are alive/healthy/etc. It is one of the best cookbooks I own.
