I got side tracked this week so I made diddly squat progress on my books. May need to take a break from my crocheting project tonight since my wrist is bugging me and read instead.
Almost done with Beautiful Creatures. I like it a lot, although I'm not sure I'll read the rest of the series (depends on how this book ends, I guess, but it looks like it could be a standalone, so I don't really see the point of reading the sequels).

A lot more happens in the sequels... some interesting, some not.

Nope, you're going to want to keep reading.
93% done and I spoke too soon, I guess.
I'll go put the next one on hold.
I know a lot of people say these books are wordy, and it IS kind of long, but I don't mind. I'm pretty verbose, myself. And I like Ethan as a narrator. It's unusual to have a male narrator in a YA book like this, I think.

Haha! I liked Ethan as narrator, too. I did not especially like Lena, lol. My favorite character was probably Macon, and despite the ending of BC, let's just say we learn more about him as the series goes on
I just realized I'm reading the same 3 books I was reading last Friday, though I've made almost no progress on 2 of them. It's been a rough week, so I've been working through HP and the Order of the Phoenix in the 3am-5am time slot when I'm lying awake too stressed out to sleep. Thank goodness for lovable books!
I'll be finishing up Gone Girl tonight and then I'm not sure what I'll start next. Not sure what I'm in the mood for next.
I just read this last week! Could not put it down, though the ending disappointed me. (Anyone else?) I did like it so much that I bought Dark Places right afterwards though, finished it yesterday (Loved it!)

I agree the ending disappointed me too. I loved Dark Places, my favorite of her three books.
I was on vacation last week, and it's amazing how much reading I can get done when there is no Internet or tv (or laundry or errands...) to distract me. (We did have Internet access, but spotty enough to be discouraging, and I just never bothered to turn on the tv.) I'm finishing up a Maisie Dobbs, Leaving Everything Most Loved, which I think is one of the best in the series so far, and considering giving up on Animals in Translation. I was enjoying it but kind of lost steam, so I might try to finish it another time.

Yeah the ending is a major letdown. The first 2/3s of the book are really good it just seemed like she didn't know how to end the story. Meh I don't know if I'll read any of her other books.
My summer grad school class just ended like an hour ago so I can finally start reading again. No idea what I want to read. Mainly I just want a nap. Who plans classes on a Saturday in June!?
I finished up Riding Rockets, a memoir of astronaut Mike Mullane. I am a space program nerd, so I enjoyed it. I ask just read Dead Ever After in one sitting at the pool. Perfect pool day book.
Regarding Beautiful Creatures, I enjoyed the first book and parts of the others, but as a whole the series felt really drawn out. On that same note, i redboxed the movie last night and it was absolutely terrible. So glad I didn't pay to see it in theaters.

I was thinking of paying $3.99 for the On Demand rental. I will instead wait for it to be on HBO. I already rented one crappy movie this week (Gangster Squad).
