My dad used to do bleach baths bc he used to get poison ivy really bad. I wouldn't do it for a young child but maybe in a spray bottle bc my child drinks bath water
omg, they are AWFUL. They squirt a liquid into you that turns your skin into goo and then suck it out. They are SOOO itchy. I got attacked by them a week before I got married and my legs looked disgusting. I was so happy I had a long dress, and there was no sexy garter toss part of the evening.
They are at our lake cabin. My husband gets them sometimes when he does yard work there. (I am comfortably reading on the dock so I am unaffected) I have never heard of the bleach/chlorine remedy; I'll tell him, I'm sure he would try lighting his ankles on fire if that would help. For the record: he puts clear nail polish on his bites because "it suffocates them". It has never ever helped even a little.

Because they don't stay at the bite. They do their thing, move on, and then the Itch starts. I read that some essential oils can help the itching
Yeah, I know, he knows, and yet he still does it, lol! It it is one of those things he grew up doing, so he continues even though he knows it doesn't work. Old habits die hard, I suppose!
I've heard of them. I had know idea they were in Spanish moss, it's all over out trees in our yard! I'd take a bleach bath to get those fuckers off me. Gross!

Omg. I had a crazy neighbor who was outside spraying herself with Windex. We were taking v for a walk and she started telling us that she had chiggers and if she didn't get rid of them, she was going to kill herself. I wish I knew about the bleach.
Are there chiggers in cities, or are they more of a woods thing? DH's company keeps trying to force us to move to Charlotte or Houston, and this is going on our "oh hellz no!" list.

Um, no. You're not moving, chiggers or not. You're my new favorite day drinking/goat cheese eating buddy and our kids like hugging each other. Sooooo....tell your husband's company no can do.
