I've had my Ride 5's for about a year. I only have 135 miles on them due to injury but I've been wearing them for PT for 5 months, which includes elliptical, bike, and leg work. Today I had my first full gravity run on a treadmill (I was running on an altered gravity treadmill) and the bottoms of my feet were hurting during the run and are sore now. My last full gravity run was in January. It is time for new shoes (even though the mileage is low) or are my feet just getting used to running again?
Depends, are the bottoms of your feet where you usually feel it if you need new shoes? That's not where I feel old shoes, so for me that would not be an accurate indicator.
135 would be really young to replace, even with the extra use that you mentioned. I'm inclined to think you're just getting back in the saddle so to speak, and should get at least another 100 miles from those shoes.
Thanks Susie that's what I was thinking. I think I'll still buy another pair though since they're on sale--woohoo!
ETA: I've never had pain when I needed to replace shoes, I just replaced them after a year or so because I wasn't much of a runner before last year. The pain is in my arches so I'm inclined to think it's getting back into it. Thanks
