I was so confused by those really low front windows. It took me a while to figure out what was going on. I think i still don't understand what's up iwth them. Is part of the house below grade?

There's enough of them in MN too. I kinda dig it as well. It's not as drab and boxy looking as the usual split level to me or something.

I'm more confused by that siding shudder combo than anything.

Yes. Or at least in the one my husband's aunt and uncle own, that part is partially below grade.

I don't think I have seen one in person. It looks like a colonial home that sank.
