And I passed with flying colors I had a big disc dog tournament in NC this weekend and I was worried about fitting in my runs while working all weekend.
We left friday afternoon but I got my 6 miles in before I packed up the car just to make sure I didn't put it off. Then on Saturday we had to be up at 6am (I work the registration tent so I needed to be there early), ran the dogs all day in multiple events and I worked in the scoring booth when I wasn't running. Got back to the campground we were all staying and knocked out 2 miles at 4pm in the NC heat. At my fastest pace in a long time! I've only been running about a year and I get a tiny bit nervous running in front of people I know but it was fine (however the tournament director said he apparently doesn't work me enough lol). Then another full day of multiple events on Sunday with both dogs in the heat. We drove the 4 hours home Monday morning and I immediately hit the road for 5 miles instead of collapsing on the couch lol. DH took both sets of car keys when he ran out to the store so I decided to run a new route from my house instead of putting off my run until later. I ran at 3pm because it was overcast but the sun came out right at the start and baked me for the rest of the run. I was such a mess lol. But I finished!
So I managed to fit in all 3 runs over 2 days of traveling and 2 days of competition in soupy humid weather (not one run was below 90% humidity) while dodging rain and storms. Whew! Between driving, judging, running, and playing all four of us were dog tired last night lol.
