I started running and MFP a year ago with the goal to lose 30 lbs, I reached that goal last week. (yay!) Now what to do next? I am still jiggly, three babies and lots of loose skin leaves me with the need to tone but I am not sure where or how to begin. I also wouldn't mind continuing the weight loss for another 5-10 lbs but more importantly I want muscle. I do not have a gym membership nor do I see myself getting one anytime soon. Currently I run three times a week 3-5 miles but that will change next month once I start training for my first half in November. I try to do JM 30DS or Ripped in 30 now on the days I don't run but realize these workouts are more effective when done every day. We may be acquiring an old weight bench and free weights so I can get started at home in the next few weeks but I need a plan. I have no training background and not an athletic bone in my body and I still consider myself a fitness newbie so educate me, give me your best advice. Thanks girls!
I've been using the New Rules of Lifting for my strength training workouts, just ignore the parts where he bashes runners:p
Is there some way that you can get a little bit of training about lifting weights? Do you have a community center that offers group classes on a drop in basis? I think it is important to have someone give you a little guidance on your form when you first started out. The best trainer I have ever had was one of my group class instructors.
