I am about ready to chuck all this exercise and healthy eating and just lay on the couch and eat cheeseburgers all day.
I have been working out pretty consistently since last fall...like more than i ever have on a regular basis. I trained for and ran a 10 miler and a 1/2 this year, take a cardio dance class regularly and do a weight dvd about every other morning (20lb for squats, 10lb biceps, etc this is not a wussy workout).
I have not lost a fucking pound in the last two months. I have cut back on booze. Rarely eat bread. Skip all kinds of stuff and pretty much eat salads and some leftover meat from previous night's dinner for lunch. I mean wtf?
Sure there have been splurges here and there but nothing on a crazy binge level. I mean eating an extra cheese stick during the day has become a splurge at this point.
I lost 30lbs on ww in 2008 and have really kept most of it off save about five lbs that fluxes over the course of a month. I weighed myself everyday in june just as an experiment and i am losing and gaining the same five lbs. At first i thought it was really gone but nope it is still coming amd going.
I will be switching out dance class for more scheduled 1/2 training for the philly 1/2 in nov next month. (I run a few times a week now but not on a set schedule and just at a basic pace).
How have other people gotten over this hump? I am not obese but just flabby in some areas still. I feel like my thights and hips will never ever get toned not matter what i do.

switch it up so your body doesn't get acclimated to your routine. the teevee at the gym told me that you need to make minor changes to your workout weekly and major changes monthly if you want to avoid plateaus.
Have you upped the intensity of your cardio workouts? That definitely will help!
Yes....when i run it is longer and am getting faster and i certainly "bring it" to class....i wear a hrm so i can gauge it. It is really fun and not a phone it in type class.

Just because something is longer, it doesn't mean it's intense. What about trying some High Intensity Interval Training? Example, in the treadmill or outside: 5 minute warm-up, 2 minutes at a very fast speed (it's not easy, it's going to suck), two minute jog or walk, repeat several times. The next time you do it up the fast intervals by 30 seconds or a minute and decrease your recovery time a little.
Also for your HRM, what zone are you working out in during your classes?
I agree with the pp. It's time for some changes. I'd start by taking a week off and splurge a little. If you've been doing the same workout DVD for a whole find a new one, or take a class at the gym, just do something different.
Are you doing speed work? I'd try and do a day or two of speed work to try and kick start things.

Hang in there.
I can work on speed and the intervals are a good idea. It's not the same dvd but a series so it is only the same workout every few days.
