1. This morning, I cleaned/sorted out the kids clothes that no longer fit (we toss them in bins) and packed up 8 garbage bags to donate tomorrow.
2. I cleaned out my old t-shirt drawer and came across an Indigo Girls t-shirt from 91. LOL. I looked on ebay and no one was buying vintage IG shirts.
3. I've had a whole morning to myself. L took the kids to see Despicable Me 2 while I returned things to Kohls and then browsed, went and got a pedicure and eye brow wax, and got my car washed. I should be studying until they come get me for lunch.
4. I am excited about our 4th plans and hope that it isn't TOO hot by the time we get there around 6. I hate the heat.
5. For someone who is trying to save money, I've done a craptastic job of it this morning - I bought 2 bathing suits from Lands End (one or both will go back though), new pillow pets for the kids since theirs were disgustingly dirty and won't come clean in the wash, Groupons for L and I for 50% car detailing where we get the cars detailed, pedi/eye brows, and drive thru car wash. Not to mention what we spend tonight on food/stuff for the kids!
6. Depressing is looking at a clothing item, thinking it looks like it would fit you, and then realizing that it 6 sizes smaller than what you actually wear.
7. I am working all day Sun and am feeling guilty for leaving the kids with L all day. WHY? She is more than able, capable, and willing. Not to mention I did this weekend solo gig for quite some time.
8. I am pretty sure I am not studying today. I think I am going to read when I finish this. I am not in the mood to study case management theory.
9. I homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream I made last weekend was AWESOME...could be cause I didn't even attempt to make it healthy/low fat.
10. I love being in a quiet house. I'd really missed it the last 7y.
1. Between Mr. Baby being sick and the loud fireworks our neighbors shoot off at all hours, everyone was up from 11:30p-2a last night and then Jen ended up sleeping on the couch with Mr. Baby. And now they are on opposite nap schedules. Awesome.
2. I managed to get a last-minute optometrist appointment tomorrow, yay!
3. My old insurance would only pay for the eye exams at a not-very-good mall chain. Two years in a row I got contact prescriptions that turned out to be wrong and ended up with a bunch of useless contacts. My new insurance has a bunch of well-reviewed providers, so I'm going to try again. I haven't had contacts in over five years and I CAN'T WAIT.
4. I need to make something to take to the block party this afternoon. We have a gluten-free brownie mix, so I guess that's what I'll make.
5. We have been trying to go see The Heat since it came out and it hasn't worked out for one reason or another. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
6. Sounds like Lady Baby is done with breakfast, so I guess I'm done! :-P
6. Depressing is looking at a clothing item, thinking it looks like it would fit you, and then realizing that it 6 sizes smaller than what you actually wear.
I do this all the time...
1. I am not a big fan of fireworks.
2. It's too hot in our house to do anything, except in our bedroom which is where we have a window unit. S is currently online looking at a big window unit that will cool our whole first floor. I think we're getting it.
3. This heat must stop.
4. I saw an old childhood friend today and it was awesome.
5. The new cat plays a little rough. We have to break those habits before there's a baby in the house.
6. Maybe there will never be a baby in the house?
7. I bought her (the cat) a $17 "mad scientist" interactive toy today to occupy her because she gets rascally when she's bored. Then I discovered that she can occupy herself for about an hour with a toy mouse we got free from the shelter, which is probably worth a dollar.
8. We are going to see The Heat on Saturday! Looking forward to it. We rarely want to see the same movies...and I'm happy to do anything air-conditioned these days.
9. I don't want to go to work tomorrow, but I don't want to be in the hot house either.
10. Lobster roll, beer and ice cream for dinner. Happy 4th to me!
