MH has been cycling more and I've seen one too many local bike accidents lately. He does take his iPhone with him, but I'm thinking a Road ID is probably a good idea. Is the interactive worth the added expense or is the original version sufficient?
I have the original. I can see the interactive being worth the expense if he has a lot of information to convey (medical history, allergies, etc.), but otherwise I think the original is sufficient.
I have the original also-it has my name, city/state, J's name and cell number, my dad's name and cell number (because J can't answer his cell phone at work), and the fact that I have no significant medical history. For me, the interactive version made no sense, but if someone had a lot of medical issues/allergies/etc that could impact emergency care I can see how it miiiight be more beneficial.
My friend that crashed on her bike two weeks ago has the interactive. She was coherent and pretty much ok, but we took her to the hospital any way. She was forgetting a few things (concussion) and was worried that her husband wouldn't be at the hospital before us. All of her medical info was on the road ID. Her DH did end up meeting us there before us and was able to talk to the doctor about her history.
I say get the interactive. You can even put your insurance info on it.
BTW friend is fine, minor concussion, one stitch in her elbow and she is back to her ironman training.

I got the interactive. I like that I can update the info any time and it has my insurance and other information. I also like that everything isn't visible to anyone who might look at my wrist. I figure it's $10 to renew and the first year is free, if I had to replace it to update info it'd cost me $16.
I vote regular. What if the person who finds you doesn't have their phone on them? Or has an old phone that can't look stuff up? Or is an older person who doesn't get what all that means?
I realize its more for the medics to use, but still...
Thank you ladies for the information. I have the regular now and so does my husband, but we are looking to get another one each. We wear them a lot and I am sure we are bound to lose one, so I figure it cannot hurt to have two. I was unsure of the "true" benefit of the interactive, but I am leaning more towards it.
Run Stroller Run is a family- and stroller-friendly race site that is your source for running races that allow parents to compete, jog or walk with their strollers (preferably jogging strollers). Find a race for you and your family at www.runstrollerrun.com.
I have the original, but I think I'll probably get the interactive one shortly. I move often enough that it would be worth it to me to be able to update easily.

Eh, if they don't have a phone on them they're not going to be able to call anyone anyway, and if they have a phone that doesn't have internet there's an 800 number on the interactive that they can call to get info.
