Please tell me it's impossible to have gained 7lbs in less than 36 hours...?! I am totally freaked out. I weighed myself before running the Peachtree yesterday and I was at the new lower weight I have mainted for a week (only 1lb lower than it has been for months...slowly but surely). Tonight I am 7lbs heavier than yesterday morning.... what gives?!
Same scale? If so, digital scale? If so, new battery?
I am often up to 3 lb heavier at night, but yeah, 7 is bizarre. No, you didn't gain 7 lb of fat in that amount of time, although perhaps some water weight, some due to time of day fluctuations, and some, um, i'm out of ideas.
Nope, probably the rain. It messes with things. Only 3 more days of this to go. The rain will also make your scale crazy. You are also water logged. We all are here in the city. Blame it on the rain.
(Really, I have no idea. I'm just sick of the rain. I really doubt you could have gained 7 pounds in a day and a half unless you ate a rock. I think it's an anomaly.)
Well, you're generally supposed to weigh yourself naked, first thing in the morning, after you pee. Most people gain some weight during the day. It's useless to compare morning and night time weights.
My weight can easily fluctuate 3-4 pounds from morning to evening. I'm guessing 7 pounds is a combo of things... comparing morning/evening weights, water retention, poop (sorry, but it's a possibility.) but no, you didn't gain 7 pounds of fat in a day or so.

So you weighed the day after the run? I always weigh more after a run - your muscles retain water to repair themselves after a workout. This is what I hear anyway

I agree with this 100%. How long was your run and where are you? Esp. in the heat like this, after a long run I initially weigh less, but as soon as I rehydrate, watch out. As a rule I generally don't even weigh myself the 24-48 hours after a long hard run.

Yep. I always weigh in the morning post poo. I ran 6.2, not far, but far for me in recent months following my fractured foot. I ran the Peachtree in ATL. It actually wasn't too hot, just muggy.

Yea. Same scale-digital. I made DH weigh himself last night too- he was up 4 and didn't run.
I fluctuate by 5lbs depending on what I've eaten/drank, how much I've worked out, and how many times I've gone to the bathroom. Sometimes for no reason at all. Don't worry about it.
