Because I just picked up a ton of hot pink, lime green, bright blues, and other bright colored tank tops today. I also found a pair of hot pink/salmon jeans on sale for $5.00. They fit really well and usually I buy without trying stuff on but I hemmed and hawed about "but I'm fat and they will not look good" so I tried them on. They fit like a glove and don't look any worse than what normal jeans do, they also aren't skinnies so that helps. My Husband really likes them and said he likes them better than my normal jeans (my normal ones have a serious case of saggy ass).
I've come a long way. When I was a teen/19-20, I only wore black. Black cargo pants, black hoodies, black t-shirts. Then I worked a job that forced me to wear red and khaki, then I got an office job where I could wear dress clothing and colors. Now my entire cart is filled with neon and brights.
I've had to really sit myself down and say "self, you are a big girl and everyone knows it. Black isn't really hiding that fact and colors are fun, so get with the program and dress like you want to as long as it fits properly." It was the best pep talk I've ever forced myself into.
I just bought some orange shorts, so probably not! Lol.
lol. This is how I go with fashion as well. Everyone is super into it and by the time I come around to it, something else is big and I look like the dork who doesn't know fashion. (and I don't)
They take some getting used to. I think it's the shape of the shoe. I don't normally wear shoes that come up that high on the top of my foot. I've worn them a couple times now and find them rather comfortable.
Also where did you get colored pants that arent skinny jeans? I want some!
Believe it or not, Wal-Mart. (yes, we shop at wal-mart. It's the only thing open at 1am lol) I'm usually not thrilled with their stuff but I needed cheap tank tops and for $5 a tank top, why not? The jeans were normally $16 something but they were all marked down to $5 and were boot cut. However, mine came from the "plus size" section.
But the wal-mart website isn't coming up with them, just skinny jeans. Maybe mine ARE slightly skinny, hence the like a glove fit. But they certainly are not tapered at the bottom like a skinny.

I bought a neon yellow top a few weeks ago and I'm staring at it still in the bag. It's become my arch nemesis because I can't figure out if I have enough nerve to wear it.

Why wouldn't you have the nerve? Do you need a pep talk? I give excellent ones.
But for real, what kind of shirt is it. A t-shirt? A fancy top?

I hope so! I too am a big girl and love my bright orange cropped pants. I also painted my nails yesterday a color called "Hot Pants," so here's hoping.
Unfortunately yes they are. I look like I'm having liver problems in neon. The 80s was my worst decade. I had people asking if I felt okay for about two years because I looked like I didn't feel well.
