I am new to H & F, but I came over from the TN when the great migration happened. I usually hang out on my "local" (not local anymore because we moved across the state.) I have been running off and on for about a year, but recently got a YMCA membership and now I go and run 5 days a week and do strength training 4 days. I am on Week 4 of C25K (again, because I sucked so hard last week). I am way over weight and have been for most of my life, so I am trying my darnedest to turn this around now.
I am newlywed to DH (almost 8 months), mom to twin girls (Abby and Amelia, 2). I am a vegan (for 3 years in October, working on going more plants, less junk, and cleaner). Kids are vegan, until they decide otherwise. DH, who thinks that this eating healthy and exercising stuff isn't up his alley, was just Dx'd with T2 Diabetes at the ripe old age of 27, so I am really trying to take care of him (he is resisting. A LOT.) I left my job in March to stay at home with the girls because daycare for 2 2-year-olds is redonk. Thinking about and strongly considering grad school in a few years when the girls start VPK.
I am going to sign up for my first 5k, Color Run - Orlando in September. I know it isn't timed, but it will tell me if I like foot races.
If you would like to know anything else, just ask.
I feel you on the DH stuff...although not diagnosed with diabetes or anything, mine has packed on about 25 in the last two years. His reason? "It's genetic..look at my dad (on insulin) and brother (lives off microwave meals)". Men. They just need to learn to listen.
