In January I set out to lose 43 lbs. 6 months later, I am down 36 lbs and went from a size 14 to a size 6. A lot of you are on MFP and have been such a source of strength and encouragment, and I thank you all for that! I was pretty good about sticking to my calories, but allowed myself to eat more if I was ever feeling hungry. I also indulged for just about every holiday. If I was going to eat "bad" I just made sure it was worth it. Grabbing lunch from Mcd's - not worth it. Getting dessert every night of our Disney World vacation - worth it! I also got in about 35 minutes on my elliptical 6 days a week.
Still have a little ways to go, but I am pretty proud of what I accomplished in 6 months. I rewarded myself with some new workout clothes
you look AMAZING. What diet did you do? Anything specific?
No, just stuck to 1200 calories a day, more if I was hungry. I eat a lot of fruit, try to get in as much protein in as I can. I also don't buy junk food for my house. I cook dinner every night, so I know exactly what I am eating. I don't buy "diet food." No frozen lunches, no fat free snack cakes, brownies etc. I needed to change the way I ate, so I didn't think eating fat free brownies would teach me to not crave brownies, KWIM? I make a lot of my meals from the Skinny taste blog. My DH has lost 30lbs as a result of me changing my eating and shopping habits.
Yeah! Good for you. You look super great. How do you feel comparatively?
I feel awesome. I have so much more energy, and I am so much more willing to do things outdoors with my kids and family. I bought my entire family season passes to a waterpark in Feb. and I told my 5 year old about it. That held me accountable. She starting couting down the days until the waterpark opened, I counted down teeh days until I had to wear a bathing suit (The SUIT actually ) in public. I have a lot more confidence, and look forward to taking my girls for a walk after dinner, or swimming at the neighbors. THings I wouldn't have wanted to do almost 40lbs ago.

I like it! I made edemame fried rice from her site last night. MMMM.... and I promptly forgot it at home.
You look amazing. This is my 'plan' after we find a house + move this summer. Clean eating and I own P90X2... maaaaaaaaayyyybe I should use it. Maybe. I'd like to do 2 rounds of it, so a 6 month timeframe, and try to lose 40-50#.
You rock! You are an inspiration - I need to be as dedicated as you are!
I have so many people ask me what I did to lose the weight, and I always tell them, I just try to be dedicated to it. It was hard some days, but there was never a day that I regretted my workout. But I had several days that I regretted not working out. I am by no means a weight loss expert, but I think just staying consistent was what made me successful.
