It is a scripted reality competition in which 16 people try to survive the Siberian winter. Someone died in the first episode. "Died," I should say. The acting is so bad, because the people are actually real people trying to act.

So did the person actually die or was it just a faked death? My MIL told my H about the show and how someone died, but I was skeptical...
I hate lame reality shows. But then I am watching Pretty Little Liars right now, so I am probably not the best judge of quality TV, lol.
Yeah, it's embarrassingly bad. My DH watched the first episode and thought it was a real reality show. I hated to burst his bubble, but he continued to watch even after I told him it was scripted. Oh well.

I thought it was real, too, until the guy died. Then I figured there's no way they'd actually show that.

No, it was faked. I love any survival / competition shows. I really wanted this to be real!

I don't watch it, but I can guarantee that if someone really died, it would have been all over the news and they would not have aired the show. Scripted reality show = scripted reality show death.
We were really disappointed because the description on Hulu made it sound like the producers scripted it but the "players" thought it was real. We thought that sounded awesome, but the first episode was so poorly acted that it was almost immediately clear that it was completely scripted.

It's so bad it is kind of funny. We will probably continue watching it for the same reason we watch the batchelorette. After the last episode DH and I said we hope they all die. The cave drawings made me lol.
