Hey runners! I woke up at 6:30 this morning, and when I checked the temperature it was already 80 outside! But did that stop me? NO. I WENT FOR A RUN. It was hot, sticky, slow, sweaty, BUT I FINISHED!
I tried to set my alarm again, no dice. I slept through it. I'm going to try to get out for a quick one at lunch in an hour or so because I don't have any time this evening. It's humid and sticky, but at least it's cloudy!
I haven't been to the gym since the 4th (overscheduled + migraines). I'm going after work today where I'll continue with the butt lifter and flirt with the suspended running machine. It is intriguing but I can tell it is not for the faint of heart. If it's relatively empty in there I'll try it - I don't want anyone judging me if I only make it a couple of minutes.
I'm noticing some muscle definition in my arms, but there's still a layer of flab standing in my way. My abs and thighs are still disaster areas.

I got up and did day 2 week 2 this morning... Guys, I'm having some serious doubts about my ability to do this... I mean, it was only 90 seconds of jogging with a 2 minute walking break and it damn near killed me... I'm not sure I'm made out for this. I may just be a non-runner for life.
I'm not giving up, I'm going to stick with it. I'm just frustrated. Like I said in the "Wednesday" post, I'm very negative today.
It's technically an elliptical, but it offers more of a "running up hill" motion. Depending on the resistance, it works different parts of your lower body - I notice it in my butt. I like it because it doesn't have any of those arm thingies moving back and forth. I just grab on and shuffle my feet for 30 minutes.

Thanks, dl. I knew it was going to be hard, but I guess I wasn't really expecting it to be THIS hard, this soon. Of course, skipping last Friday probably didn't help...
I've been so, so bad. I stopped doing C25K a while ago. I'm signed up for the Warrior Dash in September. I really need to get moving on this. The registration wasn't cheap, so I'm going to do it, whether I walk or run. I'd prefer to run.

Cut yourself some slack! I started C25k last summer as a fully committed running hater. I was like "running is STUPID unless something is chasing you." It was HARD at first, until I realized that I was pushing myself to run way too fast on the "run" parts, and just panting and falling over on the "walk" parts. Do a slow shuffle run, and I guarantee you will get better!
Alright I did it and of course as soon as I started the sun came out. And when I finished it became cloudy. Ugh. At least I burned an extra hundred calories in the sweaty sweaty humidity.

You are all impressive.
Boyfriend and I went hiking on Saturday and we did a hike that gains 1100 feet in altitude. My hips have been so sore! You can't complain about your hips without sounding gearatric so I've been especially old this week.
You are amazing! I wish I had a good place to run where I could just go out the front door and not have to drive somewhere else. I have a really hard time running after work because of the heat and I'm already tired. My weekend runs have been awesome though. I did my fastest mile last Saturday (11:04!!)

thanks smock! You're absolutely right. I am very "all or nothing", so I have a tendency to want to go all out if I'm going to do it at all. I'll bet this is a large part of my problem...
I did it, you guys. Started on week 2, day 2 rather than starting over. Took DD in the jogging stroller and enjoyed the very beautiful evening. My legs were sore, but I will run that race this fall, so it was worth it.
