I have a really bad sinus infection right now. This will be important later.
I am making chicken tikka masala for lunch tomorrow. I chopped up all the jalapeños but apparently at some point I rubbed my nose. Fuck, capsaicin on your face hurts a fuck ton. I spent a bunch of time swearing and running around the house. I tried, Vinegar, Baking soda, Bleach water, And finally, Yogurt.
Put yogurt on your face after you rub jalapeños on your face. It feels soooooooo much better. I actually put some up my nose and it is great.
Glad you found relief. I don't think I will use that method if I am ever dumb enough to try to take my contacts out after chopping jalapenos! Yogurt in my eyes doesn't sound any better than jalapenos in my eyes!
This makes a lot of sense. If you ever eat something really spicy, it is recommended to drink milk to cool the burn. The fat in the milk binds to the capsaicin to wash it away.

Another embarrassing chile related PSA - don't cut peppers, forget to wash your hands and then touch pink parts (yours or someone else's). Bad things will happen.

I'm sorry, dixie, but this made me chuckle. I'm sure I wouldn't be laughing if I'd done it though.
I channeled you this morning. I was making salsa for dinner and the last thing I cut was a Jalopeno. I then ran upstairs to get ready for work, touched my face, ouch. Then stupidly decided to put my contacts in. OMG the burnnning!! WTH was I thinking. After a lot of contact solution in my right eye later. I feel better.
Also Olive Oil can take the stink out of the irritated skin.
