I'm trying to figure out what's going on. My shoes fit fine until about mile 3 when my toe starts rubbing up against the side of my shoes. My shoes also tend to feel tighter overall. My feet don't look to be swollen when I kick my shoes off at home. Does this happen to anyone else?
My feet are 6.5's, but I wear 7's in running shoes. Your feet will swell when you run; it's pretty normal. I can even tell the next day sometimes; some of my heels that fit snugly are uncomfortable the day after long runs. Especially when it's hot. Icing after running helps that a little.

I've heard that your feet swell when you run. I'm pretty flat footed and I know that my feet spread out a good bit when I land, which is why I have to get Men's wide shoes or else I roll over the sides of the sole.
Yep. The missing toenail on my right foot is testament to the feet swelling phenomenon while running. I already wore a size up from regular shoes but now I run in shoes a size and half larger.
I might have to go up a whole size. My shoes are already a 1/2 size larger. I thought it was enough. Thanks guys, you're always a wealth of information.
Yes, you have to size up with running shoes - lost 2 toenails last marathon training because shoes were too small. I wear an 8.5 in regular shoes and a 10 or 10.5 in running shoes - i have huge, wide feet:)
i size up 1.5 sizes... my feet swell a ton! i wear an 8 in regular shoes, 9.5 in running shoes. I lace them a little differently at the top so that i don't get any slipping in the heel.
