I don't know how to feel about this (and I apologize if this was already posted and I missed it) but Gawker posted a photo of TM dead. Like crime scene photo of him. They attributed it to MSNBC. I didn't click into the FB link but my first reaction was GTFO Gawker! I was just happily scrolling through my FB feed off to do a silly post in my preemie mom group and BAM, poor Trayvon's body.
Edit: This is the link and this is the upshot of what he says his reasons are for publishing the picture:
"Good old-fashioned rage that this kid is dead because my home state empowered a dullard aficionado of Van Damme and Seagal movie cliches to choose his own adventure. Florida literally gave George Zimmerman license to make up neighborhood threats and invite violent confrontations, confident in the knowledge that he carried more firepower jammed down his sweaty fat waistband than every army on earth beheld before 1415."

one of my friends posted it on FB and then wrote a whole post about how horrible that the news showed the picture. i am not a fan of publishing these pictures to begin with, then layer it with the ^o) of the post and i just couldn't.
I saw it. It looks like it was indeed shown on MSNBC. It's not graphic - there's no blood or anything - but it is very disturbing.
I'm not sure how I feel about it. One part of me thinks it's unnecessarily lurid sensationalism at the expense of his family. On the other hand, I think maybe people need to see exactly what was done to this kid.

That's where I am frankly. I don't like seeing the image, even without being "graphic" it is disturbing, but I still think it needs to be seen. (though perhaps not on a fb feed, only if sought out fwiw)
WTF. Do the rules about posting pictures of minors not apply when the minor is dead?
I'm pretty sure his parents released the use of the picture? I seem to remember something like that being said while watching the beginning of the trial way back when they showed the image for a moment on the tv screen after copious amounts of warnings.
If the parents OK'd the release of the picture and are okay with it being out there, then I don't exactly have a problem with it--as long as viewers/readers are warned that the content is graphic.
Which is why I can understand some people being upset if this just randomly showed up on their FB feed. I'd probably be upset if it showed up unsolicited on my page/timeline.
