She works out pretty often, but does not run. She told me she was going for her first run last night to start training, and texted me a picture of her results from the running app she uses: 4 miles in 26:27 (6:36 a mile).
She told me today that she thinks the app was a little off, and it wasn't quite 4 miles, but that is still very impressive.
Eh, I know some crossfitters who are not runners who put up 5km times of 18-21 minutes, which is 3.2 miles, so if the app could easily be off by half a mile, sounds do-able, but fast.
It's possible. There is a H&Fer that has splits that low, she is a beast.
True, but if you're talking about Gumi or FMLB, they have both been running for a very long time.
When I would run with one of the girls in my running group that used an app, it was often off by as much as 3/4 of a mile. Even with that, her time would still be pretty impressive for someone who doesn't run, but definitely possible.
ETA: Has she ever run? I've run with people who haven't run in years, but ran in college, and they pick it up again pretty quickly.

Her workouts are things like Insanity and 30 Day Shred at home. I know those are challenging, but I don't know how that compares to something like Crossfit.
I think it's doable. But the question is could she do that over and over again? She'd probably get worn down pretty quick if she hasn't been running in awhile and it would be hard to sustain those times.
I did spinning 3 times a week and lifted weights regularly for 2 years before I started running. Those first few months on the pavement kicked my butt. I can't imagine the first time out doing that.
