really, I mean REALLY, fortunate to work with the people you work with? I just had one of those.
A little backstory... Every summer, we host a one day charity event; rummage sale, silent auction, and raffle. All of the proceeds are then donated to a local child with cancer. Its a blast to do, but a lot of work, and it's been a struggle to get our field employees excited about it in years past, so it always ends up being the owners and office staff (me) working the event.
One of the employees just called to tell me that not only is he willing the help with the advertising and organizing on his time off, he also wants to work a day and donate his entire day's wages to the girl we're sponsoring this year! He's a younger guy, about 24, and with most of our employees living paycheck to paycheck I can't imagine that would be an easy thing for him to do.
Yes. I've been having a really bad year and my bosses have been extremely supportive. I ugly cried on Monday in front of my boss because I forgot about a class. He sat me down and calmed me down, but I still feel embarrassed and guilty.
