Has anyone read or tried The Plan book? I have been reading about it and will likely try it but wanted to hear from anyone who may have already done this. I am interested in learning about inflammatory foods.
My daughter has unexplained hives and swelling daily since March. We are working with an allergist. She takes Claritan and Zantac daily. She can't have an allergy test completed until she can go 3 days without symptoms and that has not happened. She has had her thyroid tested along with many other blood tests for serious diseases and all have come back negative (thankfully).
I have tried all kinds of dietary changes with her. From what I have read on amazon, The Plan has a strict 3 day eating plan and then it adds more foods so you can see what kinds of foods you "react" to. After the 3 day diet, you add food and, I think, weigh yourself to see which foods cause you to gain weight? I am not concerned so much about weight loss though that is what it is sold for, I am more interested in eating reduced inflammation foods.
I haven't read that book in particular, but has she regularly eaten foods that are known to be anti-inflammatory? Turmeric is one that comes to mind, but IDK how old your DD is. Some kids don't like overly spiced foods (but we eat turmeric in scrambled tofu and my DDs love curried chickpeas, so I thought maybe...?)
Fingers crossed that you and your DD find out what is going on and she gets back to feeling better soon!
