I need math help... So I know the girl/boy stats are roughly 50/50. BUT, out of the 4 cousins born so far, all have been boys. So, what are the chances that I will have another boy so that there 5 boy cousins? 3.2%?? Or is still only 50%? I suck at math. TIA
Ps: I haven't yet decided if I'm hoping for a boy or girl. It's just interesting to think of the stats.

It's always 50/50. It's the same as if you were flipping a coin. It could have landed on heads 329 times in a row, but every coin toss is still a 50/50 chance.
It doesn't change the chances of having a boy/girl (still 50 prcnt chance) but I find that the sex of the baby is closely linked to the males family. Like for us mh dad is 1 of 5 boys and mh is 1 of 3 boys.
On my side my mom is obv a female and had me (girl) and my sister but she is 1 of 13 and there were only 2 girls. Dads side is 2 boy 1 girl and cousins are mixed 4 girls, 6 boys. Mh has all boy cousins (2 adopted girl cousins too). Mil is 1 of 3 also (2 g 1 boy)
So my theory is it seems like you can get a good indicator about the sex of the baby by looking at the male side of family.
I wondered this too. My H claims he and his family just cannot produce females. Is it possible for some men to only carry one gender? lol I think it sounds nuts but I am starting to wonder.

Ugh that's what I always hear! My real question is when will this madness end??!
I think it is all just chance and the odds are pretty much equal. My H's uncle had three boys. Out of the two sons who have had children, one son had two girls and the other had a boy and a girl.
My dad has 5 sisters and all but one had a boy and a girl ( with boys born first except for me). For the one that didn't have a mixed sex scenario- they had two girls.

I'd like to know too, lol. Boys boys boys... And I don't really mind too much because my MIL tells me how her boys always wanted to marry her when they were little and I look forward to that and their momma love!

But can a man carry only one or more of one chromosome? I know I sound stupid but my H swears!
You'll prove him wrong soon!
haha, I don't know! I think the entire family would freak out and it would suck in the respect that I think MIL would want to be way too involved. Upside is I think that we wouldn't have to buy a single piece of clothing, lol.
I just want to know if some men really do carry more of one. I'm reading it's generally pretty even but I just think the no female thing is nuts. As much as I don't care if I have a boy or girl at this point, I do think I would be disappointed if my SIL did. I really dislike her a lot, lol.
here's a breakdown taking all the anecdotes out of it www.in-gender.com/XYU/Odds/Gender_Odds.aspx Conclusion Although we often hear the "statistic" that you are 30% or even 70% more likely to keep having the same gender, this is just an old wives tale. It is NOT a fact. The truth is, your odds stay pretty close to 50% for each child and only vary slightly. If you have had 2 or 3 boys, you are only about 2% to 6% more likely to have another boy. If you have had girls, you are slightly more likely to have a boy next.
I give you the first girl born in DH's family for 125 years... Katelyn. It happens. Really it's the luck of the shoot. Get it shoot. I crack myself up at times.

There's only one person in my dad's family that has ever had more than one boy, which I find vaguely interesting. There will be three, four, five girls and one boy. My meth head cousin had two boys, but she's the only one. As a result, my brother is the "last" of our name.
